What makes me so angry about that is, that I think that she has the talent but it's like she doesn't feel the need to improve it because it's working just fine for her as it is.

I think if she were serious about it, she would try to grow as an actress.

She's said time and time again that she wishes to improve and grow as an actress. A majority of people base their opinion of her acting after seeing her in Troy or National Treasure, both of which were terrible but two of her earliest films in which she was a lead. You'd be crazy not to see how much she's grown as an actress if you've watch her movies in chronological order. She's only going to get better.

I think part of the reason why she doesn't want to improve is because acting isn't her passion.

I don't know how you got to that conclusion.

i loved the marigold dress she wore to the SAG awards...
she looked stunning...
the color works on her so well and she just looked great head to toe

i'm still not completely sure about her golden globes look though...
i really want to like it but i'm usually a fan of diane and what she wears but something about it just doesn't work for me..

I said it looks that way to me but whether or not she does I still don't like those outfits... period. And I think Diane's fashion sense has declined in the past few years. I did not say that just because I personally don't like what she is wearing sometimes, it automatically means she must be wearing them for attention.

Whatever reason Diane chooses to wear what she does, you can't deny that the fact that she always makes 'best dressed' lists and gets in magazines for her fashion choices is helping her career by spreading her name around. My impression is that she chooses outfits that will get her recognition.

I think there must be an element of that in her choices - she's very fashion-savvy and in addition to choosing what she likes, I think she's probably self aware enough to pick pieces that will stand out and even get acclaim (at least to big events). Which isn't a criticism; after all, that's what a stylist would do for her if she didn't have such great taste herself

I think the dress looks great from the front but the back is a little messy, with all those flowers. They look kind of "unfinished"? The color is divine on her, though.
