I always have trouble pronuncing some foreign designer/brand names...lets list some tough names and teach the rest the correct way to say it :P

Well... I'm always confused about Proenza-Schouler ... some people say Skool-er and others Shoe-ler. :unsure:

Givenchy = Jhee-Von-Shee

Comme des Garcons, Lacroix (La-croy??) --- Help on those!!!

Coming from a town where Von Dutch is upscale, I have never heard most of these names said aloud :(

Comme Des Garcons - c-om de gar-son

Lacriox- la -cwa

Ghesquire- jes-key-er

I remember seeing a little article on this somewhere, some of the worst mis-pronunciations of designer names by Americans. It was like Wives Saint Lawrent and things along those lines, I swear, you could almost hear the horrible Long Island jap woman accent to go with the names.

All my friends make fun of me when I correct them when they say DE or when they say Dior, :lol: Chanel, channel, and nore of others :wacko: ...they do it to tease me though, but I used to take french, so I have all my designer pronunciation skills sharped at it's best :lol:

Versace -- Vir- Saa- Cheeeeeeee

Not Ver-saays a la Elizabeth Berkley in the blockbuster!! Showgirls.

Me too, and I live in a neighborhood where Haute Couture is pronounced Hawte Catour and you're only as good as your Lewie Vittahn........it's a wonder my family lives in such an uncultured little bubble.

Ok, I gotta get this off my chest, but it took me two months before I stopped saying it Rochas and started saying Rosha.............

demeulemeester ...i always hear people say demeule-MIESTER...which is WRONG...

it's MEESTER... :lol: :flower:

My mag says Ghesquire is pronounced Ghes-koo-are...
