How do you pronounce "Slimane"? I always say Slim-ane (the ane rhymes with pain) but I'm pretty sure that's wrong.

I always thought "Margiela" was pronounced Mar-gee-ella

mane rhymes with the french pronunciation of 'main' (hand) or 'pain' (bread)

the C in balenciaga is actually an english S or more of a Z, just because that last name derives from balenciana and in spanish, that's clearly pronounce as a S without the smallest doubt

I have yet to find consensus on Margiela. And another funny thing, where do you put the accent in Simons?

Oh no, definitely wrong. There are a couple variations on Slimane and I consider them both to be accurate. You can say "slih - man" as I suggested, or "slih - main (rhymes with gain)".

Just watched a bunch of stuff on Fashion File. Some stuff I picked up...

It sounds like everybody is pronouncing Ungaro "UHN-gah-ro" (ro like "row the boat").

Everyone says "Slim-ANN". The narrator seems to pronounce Hedi "Eddie", but everyone else seems to pronounce the "h", saying "Heddie".

Everyone pronounces Hermes "Air-MEHZ", not "Air-MAYZ".

He clearly pronounces Lanvin "LAHN-van".

Everyone pronounced Proenza Schouler "Pro-EN-zah SHOE-ler", not "SKOO-ler".

Rochas was in between "ROACH-ahs" and "ROASH-ahs".

If he's French, 'Hedi' should be 'Edi', the French don't pronounce their 'H's.

I always pronounced 'Simons' 'See-mohn'.
