I have asked to be on waitlist for the last bag (the one with the brown rose) but i wasnt able to get any information about it, like pricing...name of line, etc

I dont like the first three, I hate the Columbus Bag shape. The others though are heaven.

If Dior comes out with a Detective bag in messenger bag form Id be all over it. Actually on second thought, I could definately carry this bag with an air of masculinity. I was thinking of getting a huge bag that I could tote all my college books in, this may be the one.

I have an interesting story.

On my trip to Europe I brought out this old Benetton Golf jewelry bag so I could tote all my stuff around, not worry about it getting damaged and store the casualties in the hardbottom lower case. I went into the Dior boutique (this was in July) and was walking around with this bag, which is exactly like the Dior Detective bag just different fabric and a different handle.

While browsing my arm got tired so I set this bag down on the counter and this random salesman approached me and was like "Your bag is fabulous." I was intrigued since the bag was like from 1995 and in shockingly bright primary colors.

Of course when I saw the Spring show I was shocked. Im not saying that the bags were inspired by my bag but it is so wierd that I had that bag at the Dior flagship (which John is known to hang around not to mention the assistant designers) a couple of months before Dior showed practically the same thing.

Ya, Im gonna take a picture of it tomorrow. Beware though, it ain't pretty.

I love them all, the large detective is a favourite again, i think i shall pass on the spring detective bag and put my name down for the f/w 05 Tan croc detective insted

I think the one with the rose embelishment is absoloutly adorable, its just beautiful

the large detectives are so beautiful...when i was at the Dior boutique in Bal Harbour, i was holding the white one in front a mirror, i almost couldnt put it down! but that price is just:cry:

the croc one must be a insane price...somewhere i think brian said 30,000 last night, maybe have been a exageration...i dont know:innocent:

I'm hi-jacking this thread for a minute, but it's still Dior related...
what does anyone think of the denim/crocodile trim columbus bag???

I like the color of the crocodile but paired with the denim makes it look cheap, plus the Columbus Bag is very outdated. If it's real crocodile you can do much better for much less.

"outdated"!?!? if anything, that bag is a classic. the collection it came from was a landmark in fashion history in my opinion, and that just makes it all the more special.

plus..if you like it, then you should wear it no matter what the dictates of fashion or trend may say

I can see how you consider it classic, the Street Chic line was excellent (most of it is still in style). Something classic never goes out of style, and that bag is out of style. The shape of it is great but the fabric it is cast in and the little dangly thing (forgot the name) makes it less timeless. If it were in all croc without that military detail it would be timeless. I like the whole twist-on bag thing too, that's very cool, they should do the Columbus bag with Dior Detective style twist-ons.

And, I agree with you, but handbagbabe was asking my opinion an I gave it.

Well, after much thought I decided to get the denim bag.....the price was just something I could not pass on!!! It was 1/3 the original price! I have so many different "sides" to my bags - I have girly bags, urban bags, hip bags etc. and I just thought this would be a breat "little" bag to grab to go grocery shopping, the zoo. It does have a timeless shape :)
Brian - I love those pics - is that bag still available in a less expensive leather??? They're heavenly:heart:

i'm so happy for you getting that street chic bag at such an amazing price! :woot: ... could you maybe try to post a photo of it when you get it?

and also, which bag are you talking about being available in a less expensive leather?? ...the detective doctor bag?? ...if so, yes, it's available in plain calfskin (red, black, or cream) for about $2,000
