Dior Homme F/W 06.07 Paris

They don't. That's what I meant in my post. The major customers are 25+ professionals who spend on suits, 18 year olds can only afford a couple of items a season eg. jeans and a shirt etc.

 that explains a lot...i suspected that the 18 year olds wearing dh were getting paid six figures!!!:ninja: i don't feel too bad about it now, i thought i was the only one who couldn't afford the jackets so readily...:innocent:

When I was 18, pale and skinny, I threw together the most extravagant looks at Wasteland, Canal Jean and The Garment District, and I looked good in all of it. I couldn't find any "designer" who could ever satisfy my lust for extraordinary clothes more than the mountains of fashion history.

To me, when someone is 18, one honestly doesn't need Dior, and people will still be beating down the door begging for dates. :ninja: My saved pocket money went to travel in far flung places.

Would like to go on a date with me??? :)

Thank you, I'm not 18 anymore and very much "taken." :) Otherwise, I'd love to. I still wear vintage though.

Lol, I am not 18 either so...;)

My impressions now.

This is closer to Hedi's YSL than it has ever been before.

It is definitely not on a par with Solitaire, although there are some elements from it. But as you may notice there are elements from everything Hedi has done so far! It like a mixture of seasons and styles under the concept of "dressy clothing".

The leather outerwear have nothing to do with the leathers from the past, from what I could see at least. Just notice the zipper on the jacket!

im 18, pale, skinny, and wear dior (although I have not liked the recent seasons). I know a lot of other students at my school who wear dior.

You wouldn't happen to be a student at LCF, would you?

To beetle

I'd really like close ups to pics 0613sr, 0810lh, 1288nz, 1241ax, 1102tb,1077ys, 0393vu, 0268ce, 0257hk, 0197ib and that's all.
Yes I DO know I'm very pretentious, so FORGIVE ME.......

Sorry! I don't post here much anymore and I'm not familiar with new rules. Next time I'll remember to add credits...

To be truthful, I'm really glad I'm not 18 anymore, and leave the feather boas and orange leather shorts behind...:p

This looks too "fantasy homme" for me, too costumey, like a lot of the other men's collections this season...I must confess I only fancy sequinned boleros on real matadors....B)

Other than the more recognizable suits and coats, will the other looks really take off?

Ok, on the other hand, I'm also the girl who gets a lot of rap for saying I'd laugh out loud at the sight of a man in a big b/w houndstooth check trenchcoat....

beetlejuice, its really no issue.. and i'm glad to see you around, you should actually post more ;)

Oh yea, about the colleciton. It's definitely better then S/S 06, but that does not say much. It's way too formal for my taste - there is no EDGE, and edge is what attracted me to DH. Some of it is derivative, and the coat with the roped toggle buttons is straight out of Yohji Yamamoto F/W 05 - I mean it's a complete copy, you can still see it in Yohji boutique in NYC probably. I do like the trench with wide pants look, it's pretty cool, sort of classic YSL, no?

I'm sure the "short jacket with tight shirt, satin ribbon, tight jeans, satin cumberbund and patent-leather shoes"-look will take off.

Just imagine how happy Karl must be...

Neil Tennant on the front row!!

Lol! He was in the Harrods Dior section when I went to buy some jeans a couple of weeks ago. He literally had about 4 SAs at his command - seemed to be buying up all of the sale stock.
