Dior Homme S/S 07 Paris

haha..but wouldnt you think the s/s 06 outfit would make him wanna quit even more..i thought the f/w one wasnt so bad

i agree that hedi has changed in some ways...maybe crossing the teenage line a little too far
but his clothes arent bad..depending on who you are really

edit: i do miss the stuff from couple years back..but this i definiently dont hate

I think it's not the clothes look feminine, but the models and the styling... Hedi seems to get his women line at last:-P

From what I have seen so far I am a little conflicted...first off the styling is great and the outfits do look very nice, but when I look more closely at the individual items of clothing I fail to see how I could pull any of them off (and I seem to be the target customer...young, very thin, and pale).

Basically, I am unable to make the jump from runway to sidewalk and that is something that I am able to do with the likes of Cloak and Ann D. (who also toys with androgynous styling)...but maybe this goes too far into the realm of the feminine.

I adored the a/w 2006-07 collection - although I think I'm the only one - and I like this new collection far better than the s/s 2006 collection.

Well, if we all make the jump from catwalk to sidewalk it will be far easier!

This is awful. Someone needs to remind Hedi that he is designing for Dior Homme, not the juniors section at Hot Topic. This clothing is so ugly and effeminate, it's completely disgusting. I mean, come on... bangle bracelets? The little bows and sashes tied around the waist? Even the hair and especially the jackets... this is pure garbage. Hedi must know that he's not signing another contract because there is no way in hell someone who wanted to keep their job would design a collection like this.

I sort of agree. Although androgyny has been something rooted in the brand since day 1, it's being pushed a little too far, some things in recent collections are too literally effeminate. Plus some looks from this collection come across to me as a little, dare i say it, Belgian.

I don't understand all the crap jewellery/accessories et cetera either. I wonder if Hedi will ever leave the whole indie/rock/mod thing and go back to French house.

I'm sure there will be great individual pieces & the quality of tailoring will still be high, it's just a shame the overall image of the brand is no longer what it used to be (with AW'06 being the exception).

I love some of the tops for men...the halter is a bit much though...would I be brave enough to wear some of the tops...

 i'm breathless...i love the transparent bracelets, the white trench...for me Hedi is one of the most inspired fashion designer...

I'm not saying that there is no one who dresses like that. I'm saying that it's not a very masculine look. I can confidently say, and I mean no offense by this, that over 90% of the males who dress like that in public, day to day, are either homosexual men or punk/hardcore/goth teenagers. The runway has become more and more similar to what comes to stores, and this really worries me with SS07. I do not feel that, financially, there is a market that warrants a collection like this.

You are wrong, from the beginning to the end, and I personnaly don't like the way you are saying that.
In Paris/other trendy city but mainly Paris, you can see some streets/bars/cubs/whatever with A LOT of people wearing Dior Homme (skinny things etc) or trying to get "the" look. They are not all homosexual or punk-rock-goth
I wear the most feminine Dior Homme pieces. I am not homosexual, and I hate Rock'n'Roll.
Tastes in music or sexuality don't make they way people are, neither it make their tastes in term of clothing. You are not apart. Who cares if it's not masculine? Sure there's a market for that! For people who want manly clothes, then there's Dolce&Gabbana, Armani or whatever :flower:

Anyway two things I have to do
-Loose 5 kg
-Go to my hairdresser

im a girl..should i loose some weight to get into dior homme XD

gonna be graduating (hs) when this collection comes out..i wanna congrats my self (stupid..i know) with some stuff from this collection

edit: o_o'' the models all look so skinny..maybe they have a smaller waist size than i do

Don't get me wrong. I love the Dior Homme aesthetic. I've liked all the collections from Strip until now. I completely understand people wanting to emulate the looks from VOTC, SS05, FW05 and to some extent SS06. They're popular and very musically influenced. However, this collection does not resemble any of the ones I have just mentioned. It is over the top in terms of femininity. If you honestly appreciate the majority of this collection (from what I've seen, there were maybe 2 or 3 looks that were not better suited for a girl), you simply fall into the other 10%.

For the items shown on this runway, I do not feel that there is a financial market that allows for a collection like this. Dior Homme in general is not cheap, and these items do look rather detailed. Of the small percentage of the people who enjoy wearing clothing that looks like this, how many will be able to afford a $400 halter top, $900 bolero or any other of these pieces that will surely be sold at a rather high price point? The tee shirts and the jeans will still sell, but I can't see the rest of the collection being anything but a flop.

Oh my god! That was the worst possible time for my internet to die on me! I missed seeing all the pictures as they were being posted!!!
This collection is leaps and bounds better than last spring. I must say, most of it is way too feminine for me to wear, but there are a lot of great pieces in there.
The trench worn over the halter top (?) in post #5 is nice and basic/boring/perfect. And in post #17, I absolutely need the chamber robe and the shiny shirt. I kind of liked the idea in the Dolce & Gabbana collection, but this makes me really want one. And the leather/pleather pants!!! Those are great! I want a pair so badly now! But it'd be even better if they came in a brown.

And are the ties even skinnier than normal, or is that just me?

I really really like this collection. As many of you have said it´s something totally new and it's refreshing to see something like this from Dior Homme. The old glamour is back although A/W 06/07 started it after those horrible things from A/W 05/06 and S/S 06..

Those leather/pleather pants are gorgeus!! And the jacket are truly amazing. Those plastic bangly bracelets are hideous and I hope they wont make it to stores, but if they do have a happy time spending like 500 dollars for plastic thing that you can get from a street vender for 5 bucks...

The styling is really good and I can't wait to see pictures from the flying model. And finnaly Dior Homme has made it to Finland because there is this one stores that will strat to carry it from this collection or from A/W 06/07 not sure. YEY :)

But a really good collection and I wish they re-newed his contract..

I like the suit jacket with the sash and the leather jacket on the first page.
A lot of it looks likes what Karen O wears, just for guys.

Amo_armani, i work at Dior Homme in Paris and don't worry fashion skinny boy represent something like 10% of the sales only, so if hey like or not collections whatever. Anyway this collection is far the most feminine i ever saw from DH. The models look like young .... people with girl masculinized clothes. Damn TRANSPARENT BRACELETS ...... What the f*ck.
Anyway people will still buy the suits because they are fine and because Dior is written on it. Fashion stuff is not a big big deal. I think FW is great and will have a succes because the fashion stuff will also be buy by classic people who want a casual twist, like a satin trench but the summer will be hard to sell. Good luck for me.
