Dior Homme S/S 07 Paris

Though statistically the hairstyle's not a trend, but I bet it's gonna be all over the street soon.
Luv the jackets! But the styling's almost the same for every season already.

LOL.

Please. Comical over-analysis. And yes, there really is such a thing as gender, the masculine, and the effeminate. Biology, sexual mores and sexual roles are not hermetically sealed off from gender categories, like it or not.

Anyway, looks a shite collection to me.

theres such thing as gender with reference to biology. any type of by-extension sexual mores/sexual roles especially with regard to clothing dont actually exist. like it or not.

Love everything, but not as much as the previous seasons. Is this Hedi's last collection? :(

after reading alot of these comments and replies to comments
i find that women have more power in dressing

women now days can dress up in triditional men's clothes and no one cares and maybe even props to them
yet..when it comes down to men dressing in "feminine" clothing..it all becomes wrong?
maybe hedi is ahead of our times

i dont even bother debating this subject..not like i can make anyone who hated this love it
since fashion is a form of art and expression
and art is just art and there is not right or wrong..only personal preference and opnioin

well said..i agree with your previous post too
it's not like we were born into women in skirts and men in pants

i happen to know for a fact that geo from misshapes was at the show by chance and thought the show was hilarious because it looked just like him. he hadn't known befrehand.

i wonder if pete would think the same if he was at the s/s 06 show
but than again...this guy (that was in relation with pete..from an article) said it for him

im not surprised by geo's comment

I wasn't objecting to anything you said. It just seemed a little odd looking like a girl would almost be equal to an insult. I must've misinterpreted what the original post meant, though. I completely share your thoughts about the collection, it is curious that the more "masculine" collections (at least there were NO bangle bracelets in the last one for god's sake) are less applauded. Weird, isn't it? : )

This blows. But what's new? It's long been accepted that Hedi has spent so long ogling suicideboys that he's turned himself blind or something.

it doesnt take a wizzard to understand there is no such thing as effiminate or masculine
It doesn't take a 'wizzard', in fact it takes someone with a vague understanding of the word 'society', to understand that that's cobblers...

I just said the same thing to a friend of mine, Slimane did the same thing with Doherty. I would HATE it if someone completely copied my original look to a runway show. It could sound flattering, but definitely not when everyone starts looking just like you all of a sudden.

i dont like it for myself and i dont like it from a sales perspective, but as a collection i like it. i like it because it has all of you guys talking about it. this is what a runway collection is supposed to do. it is supposed to move people, it is supposed to bring out an emotion in them, whether that emotion is positive or negatve.
it is a designers ability to energize or stimulate conversation about his work, that ultimately makes him great. and hedi has been able to do this very successfully.
it is now the 'suits' and the production staffs' responsibility to translate his vision into sizes that the average customer can relate to (like what H&M did with Karl Lagerfeld's Work and caused him to be upset)

Hedi has already done his job, which is to create items according to an a viewpont that make the brand relevant and highly desireable (i personally dont like it as i find it too effeminate) but from a purely designer standpoint, he has done what is required of him and LVMH would be foolish to let him go, as he would be double foolish to want to leave (unlesss karl is giving him a job at Chanel which is the only possible place he could go after YSL and Dior....................

Aside from a couple of pieces here and there.. like the trench and the strap safari jackets.. I cant think of many men out there that are NOT going to look like theyre either trying too hard or like Goofs.. im sure the skinny whiteboys off the runyway would LOVE it.. but theyre the only ones that could pull the other pieces off.. Id love to see what happens at the stores.. and with regards to the adrogynous debate.. Raf Simons, Ann dem, Rick Owens and Cloak do that too but this is a bit too effeminate.. If he targets certain pieces at women then show them on skinny girls(that look like guys) for gods sakes.. but i think i know where hedis coming from..he seems to use the runway as a canvas to give visual pleasure for men like him who like his clothes(skinny)and can ogle at these girly white boys.. its cerainly a strong statement alright.. but I really cant say much more about this.. except that those plastic bangles are simply HORRIBLE.. i think im quite sure its one of his assistants that inspired him.. ive seen pics of him.. and he wears a lot of beads and jewellery like that.. NOt a fan..
