Dior Menswear S/S 2026 Paris

Franz Reichelt 😍

Don't get me wrong, I love craftmanship like everybody here...
One of my favorite moments in the video is actually when Loïc says to the Première d'Atelier: This coat is amazing... looks "thermocollé", right?
And the she goes, absolutely scared by the word: no, no, no, it is all in the construction! 🤣

But for the coat, I don't see the point of the total embroidery. There are no irregularities and you are fully covering the piece.

To me it is like being a king, living in a castle, and hiring under exclusivity a fisherman, a baker and a cook to have every afternoon a thuna sandwich.
The Emperor is naked; but his as.s is full embroidered!!

The bag and the boots are giving Galliano. But I'm still not sold on the rest.

I might get the bag honestly if it comes outside of that Galliano-esque oblique.

Pricing are in line I guess. I miss the sense of belonging that ironically buying some pieces gave years ago though. Things just look… banal.

I enjoyed Loïc's video, thanks for posting it.

Definitely, for me, the.most interesting aspects were how Jonathan translated the couture dresses into the mens.
The Delft cargos are already iconic.

On the other hand, there is something I didn't fully understand, concerning the 200k coat.
Why spend 3000 hours embroidering by hand a full pied-de-poule coat?
Embroidery is an ornamental technique that you apply usually to a part of the garment.
If you want a silver thread in the totality of the tissue, like in a brocade, why don't you go directly for a jacquard loom?
It sounds unnecessarily fastidious, without adding anything special beyond the labouriousness itself.

I‘ve seen plenty more stunning examples of couture embroidery even for men to say with certainty this is one hell of an underwhelming coat for 200k - Not that it mattered much for the design itself but the outrage of the price and affirming the push towards exclusivity for this new chapter at Dior.

I wonder what is the true price of those items 🧐
average luxury leather bag made in italy production price is 250 max 280 euro (often even lower via subcontractors ) / hermes cost price is just below 1000 euro ball park

labor and material cost basically is internal sale prices for employees / sample sales are the cost price covered

I was actually wondering about the price of those trousers, I was thinking somewhere around 4.5k euros. So yeah, at that price, it’s definitely not going to be the piece of the season :innocent:

Im not shocked by the pricing as im always shocked by the pricing in Dollars.
But those are runway pieces. The runway collection is always a little bit more expensive. It’s going to be interesting to see the whole offer but those prices are reasonable.

You are trying to apply logic and rationality to Couture…
They are doing things because they can lol. And for the Ateliers, it’s always a challenge.

But don’t get it twisted. There’s a clientele for that…

VIP clients receive pre-order PDFs from their sales advisor.

Editors and store buyers –although I don't think Dior does wholesale for RT– also receive the same PDFs as part of the resee.
I think they do shop in shops. Maybe with JWA they will really go further with a full integrated retail strategy à la Vuitton.

if the current old dior charges these amounts for these basic items then it makes sense JWA cost twice as much lol

thank goodness i never stepped on foot in dior since hedi years womens was last time Raf era........ the current product is boring & vile.

I’m really curious how the sales would be especially bags and accessories. It seems like the book tote get very negative reviews from some asian countries, and I can’t see they are selling in asian markets. Also, the collection doesn’t make that much buzz in Asia as I thought.
