For those of who work at a clothing store, what how much discount do you get? And please state what store you work for. Thank you!

I heard Forever 21 :yuk: gets 10% off.

When I was at Gap, I got a 50% discount.

Working for Gap gets you discounts at Old Navy, Banana Republic, and Piper Lime too, but the way the company "organized" what sorts of discounts were given on specific merchandise (and I mean specific like, skirts to outwear to discount to accessories) to who got it: you, your mom, your child, your spouse, etc.

It was crazy stupid, so I merely treated myself to a 100% discount every now and then. :shifty::lol:

I heard BCBG employees receive 50% off.

I heard Louis Vuitton SA can get 30% off!

I worked VERY briefly at Banana Republic (sort of a long story). 50% off 6 items a month excluding leather goods and handbags. 30% off everything else all the time including Gap and Old Navy. The 30% can be added on top of sales, so if there was a sale where you get 30% off something, you can make it 60%. Then there's a 'special' list that includes things like leather goods that you can purchase at it was either 50% or 60% (can't remember) that was given to you once per season.

I only ever bought 3 things there :ninja:

hahaha no way, they re so cheap there it s unbelievable.
u get something like 20 or 25% off that s it that s all.
believe me when i say THEY RE THE CHEAPEST

on the other hand LOUIS VUITTON are one the best really, u can get soooo much stuff for ridiculous prices when you work there

on a lower lever H&M is good too, u get 50% on almost everything

as far as i know, there's no actual "discout" per se for Vuitton SAs. wasn't it that the generally SAs get oportunities to buy a few selected articles at a lower price?

though i also heard that the bi-annual sample sales at Vuitton in NYC are freakin crazy price wise. like, REALLY cheap stuff.

i work in a shoe shop 2x free pairs per year and 25% off and 50 % for work shoes

i worked at lord and taylor as a SA. got 25% off. you could stack your employee discount with coupons, that was neat.

i work at urban outfitters and we get 40% off..we also get the same discount at anthropologie and free people stores

When I was at Nordstrom managers got 33% and all other employees got 20%.

I work at Gucci and I get 30% off sunglasses, 50% off bags, jewelery, small leather goods and RTW, and 62.5% of timepieces (3 per year I think). Gucci is crap though so I never buy anything.

when i worked at express as an assistant manager, we got 35% off everything (including sale) and at the beginning of each season we could buy certain pieces at 50% off (so we would wear them)...
we also got discounts at victoria's secret, structure/express men, and bath & body works...

macy's was 30%, but you have to get a macy's card that everything is charged to...

i think the gap was similar to what yourbestfriend said: 30% off everything at your store, plus banana and old navy...

a friend of mine worked at j.crew, and their setup was similar to express...
30% off everything, plus special 50% off days...

I don't work there but I read it on some other forums and well apparently they get 30% off regular permanent line, and you have to wait min 6 months for all newly released bags.

never heard about sample sales. I thought they never did any!!

ralph lauren is 50% regular/rugby/factory stores on full price, 40% off sale. no perfumes though and maybe a few other things. it's a wonderful discount

Hmm, not a clothing retail store...But Best Buy and Future Shop in Canada follow the policy of Cost + 10% of the cost. Cost being the price the store buys it for. So if theres hardly a markup on the item, like ipods, computers/laptops and gaming systems, you may have to pay regular retail price. But accessories like a USB printer cord that retails for $20 can be bought for $1.75.

I work at a small, upscale boutique and we get 25% for the first year, then 35% after you've been there a year. Also, twice a year 50% on certain things. It's not too bad, apparently soon they're going to change it so we all get 40% all the time.

exactly. and those special lists are what they call seasonal discounts. also, if you work for lets say... banana republic, you do get 30% off at gap and 20% off at old navy, but you are limited to 6 items at each of those stores. and visa versa if you work at gap, you only get 6 discount items at banana republic or old navy. so of, so forth. :flower:
