DJ AM Passes away

RIP... he is not well known over here, but he seemed like a good guy. V.sad news. It has been an awful year for celebrity deaths. :(

Those photos make me remember how much I loved him and Nicole together! They were the sweetest couple!

RIP... it is very sad indeed.

Kind of reminds me of Heath Ledger. Both were also in SoHo.

DJ AM’s body has reportedly arrived in Los Angeles and is now in the care of a funeral parlor while his family searches for a proper burial spot.

Despite reports that a funeral will take place Thursday, his family has not confirmed any plans.

Meanwhile, DJ AM’s girlfriend, model Hayley Wood, tells Us Weekly that reports the two had recently split were not true. “Any indication that this horribly tragic accident happened because of a rumored breakup is not only untrue but disgusting. We were very much together at the time of his passing, and I love him very much.”

Though we’ll have to wait weeks for official autopsy results, evidence strongly indicates DJ AM’s cause of death will be a combination of crack cocaine and benzodiazepines — anti-anxiety drugs he got hooked on after surviving a plane crash last year.

A private memorial for the late Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein will be held on Thursday in Los Angeles, and now new details have emerged about the unique format of the memorial service.

According to People.com, the invitations for the memorial say that the service will have a specific format in order to acknowledge Goldstein's battle with addiction.

"The format of the evening will be in the style of an open 12-step meeting," the invite says. "Adam's friends both from his life in recovery, as well as those from other areas of his life are welcome. We ask only that everyone adhere to the tradition of anonymity and let what they hear there, and who they see there, stay there."

The memorial is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Thursday night at the Hollywood Palladium, People says.

In addition, Goldstein's family reached out to fans to thank them for their overwhelming support with the following statement on DJ AM's Myspace page. "We appreciate the kind words and support for Adam over the past few days. Due to your inquiries, in lieu of flowers, AM's family would like to suggest making donations to the following charitable organizations."

His Myspace page shows his schedule up till October.
It's sad to see such a young life be taken away so abruptly.

DJ AM’s funeral was held at the Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary in West Los Angeles for a private service honoring the celebrity spinner.

A large crowed of friends and family came out today (September 2) to pay their respects to the 36-year-old born Adam Goldtstein, among them were his mother Andrea Gross, his girlfriend Hayley Wood, his best friend Travis Barker, actor Scott Caan and other celebs.

Not pictured were Nicole Richie, Joel and Benji Madden and many more.

Nearly 40 chairs were set up under a canopy toward the rear of the cemetery. A tarp covered the back gate in order to keep the paparazzi away.

Meanwhile, friends, family and fans will gather on Thursday night for a memorial service at the Hollywood Palladium.

It's still so sad. I saw him at the 105.1 powerhouse concert starring Jay Z/Lil Wayne concert last October not too long after the airplane crashed. He was spinning for Jay and I thought it was the craziest thing ever. Then Jay Z went over to the turntables and started changing the songs himself on AM's laptop and DJ AM was laughing, I thought it was the coolest thing ever. He was also supposed to DJ @ Club Tribal yesterday. Oh and he had a crazy sneaker collection. Click on the youtube link and you guys will see what I mean:
