Do You Actually Buy Runway Clothing?

Originally posted by As You Like It@Dec 5 2004, 08:39 PM
Well, if by runway, you mean "hallway between my sewing room and bedroom," then I wear runway clothes every day, darnit!

If you mean runway like the one Gisele, Kate, Mariacarla, et. al. sashay down, then I don't wear any runway clothing whatsoever.

:P

Oh God you're awesome

yeh, all my clothes are straight from the runway, see me and Brian attacking Mariacarla and Karen when she comes off the Dior couture show and we will be stripping her down and running away with those gowns and Queen mums

If Helmut Lang S/S 05 runway show was a good representation of what we'll see in stores then I'm disappointed :ninja:

Yea, I don't know where he came up with that stuff. In any case, his quality is not that good this season, and probably won't be any better from now on...

Most of my stuff is off the runway. I follow Miu Miu, Prada, Burberry Prorsum, McQueen etc etc pretty closely.... My next big thing is being the first person in the US to get the Miu Miu menswear for S/S 05, pretty soon.....

Blame it on Prada.

 I wish there were thrift stores like that over here.

well, those two were some of my cheapest big finds... the michael kors sweater had actually been marked down to about $100... but still, $100 then give it to a thrift? maybe the person died... i don't know, but the top sure looks good on me.

absolutely nothing ... unless the GAP has a runway show anytime soon... Wait doesn't Banana Republic put on a show? I also suppose I could go buy some Baby Phat swag

I do get a few versace runway items... but at the same time i love getting the basic things that wont go out of fashion...

like is it bad to wear runway stuff once its out of season... is it a crime? :glare:

Of course not. IMO, it would be a huge waste of money not to.

Even high street labels have show their clothing on runways (not the same as the labels showing on fashion week in the different fashion metropols ofcourse..) so I don't know where the line is suppossed to be drawn..

I'm a mix and match'er anything from H&M to Alexander McQueen.
But most my runway items are pretty dressy items, so I hardly think they cover more than 25 % of my wardrobe.

I'm pretty sure she was serious.

I have a few pieces, most are vintage or thrift-store :innocent:

I used to before having 3 other children  now i only have a red/white leather/faux fur Dolce and Gabbana coat 2004.

I have a ton of runway pieces that are second-hand, vintage finds. Something about buying that expensive makes me cringe.

Everybody should wear what they like. Runway shows DON'T dictate what's in and what's not.
