Donatella Versace - Designer, Creative Director of Versace

I watched it in ftv today and i didn't know that was Versace till the end when it was signed. Im very impressed but i think that some of those changes in Versace style are from money problems. This collection is probably will bring more profits, but Donatella is risking some old, good and loyal clients.

In other point of view , this collection lost something from freshness, vitality and show with elements like bright colors, which were not very good but in VERSACE STYLE

FASHIONABLE tongues are wagging that even though Tom Ford swore off the rag trade forever when he left Gucci earlier this year, as early as a month and a half ago, he was trying to buy Versace. "Tom and [former Gucci CEO] Domenico de Sole approached Donatella Versace about buying out her share in Versace," our insider said. "But there was a catch — they would give her big money but she would have no role whatsoever in the company. No designing, nothing — they just wanted her out." Versace was said to have declined the duo's offer. A rep for Versace snapped, "This is not true. They never approached her and she is not selling."

Some Monday morning gossip

 I would have loved to see a cut down of the bleached blonde action though

tom and dom could have turned that house around...that's for sure.

Yeah, I agree. If it's true I think Versace may have been brought back to where it once was.

Would have been great to have Tom replace the untalented Donatella.... well not that Tom is special, but he's far better than that fake tan girl.

damn it, why didn't donatella just take the offer, the bleach in her hair is poisoning her mind

excuse me...as my first function as a mod...i've moved this to designers and collections...

thx... :flower:

I think it should be in celeberity gossip  You know - Tom, Designers and Collections :innocent:

Materialistic, hyped, marketers first, designers at an indefinite point a long way further down the line and made out of plastic...how are Tom and Donna not alike?

Don't mess with Texas

It’s hard to imagine the two of them being able and willing to offer enough money to make a takeover. But with the right financial backing, everything is possible I guess.

I’m still having a hard time believing this to be true tough.

tom does have a reported quarter of a billion to play around with.

J'adore donatella.... one of my friends from versace headquarters said that over the next few yrs the the designs with be funkier with more colours... i loved the spring summer collection... but i have to say i am disappointed with the winter collection

don't know if it's true...but it does seem like a perfect fit...
especially since tom seems to specialize in taking a pre-existing brand and re-styling it...and the aesthetic is obviously the same as the one he spawned at gucci...

but it is unimaginable that versace would exist without a versace family member involved... italians have a lot of pride and ego and i cannot imagine donatella steppping down for any reason...just hiring people behind the scenes to do the 'real' designing...

Honestly though, I could see it being truth. Rumors have been swirling around Tom and Dom involvement in Versace since last year.

Really? I didn’t know he was paid that well, but I guess the stock options is where most of the money comes from. In any case are they really willing to risk all that money?

An btw buying Donatella’s share would only give them control of 20% of the company as Allegra and Santo owns 50% and 30% respectively.

I would love to see someone do something good for the company. I don't see Donatella making any improvements in the near or far future. I think she's doomed.
