The full thing is on Style.com and all I can say is that even though the whole collection looks like a direct rip off from Lanvin and Versace, I still wish she was doing it instead of her usual RTW.

collection is a mashed-up of halston-ysl-lanvin-her own signature drapes

The full collection is up on Style.com. This collection is totally breathtaking, and I certainly like it a whole lot better than F/W and S/S 2010!

I like the first dress a lot, the second dress reminds me too much of Lanvin, and the rest are good too. :D

It's kind of funny to me that because Alber did a long, drapey gown with a plunging neck, a slit up the leg and a sleeve that it's his look.

Donna has been doing variations on that same dress for years, since before Elbaz was even a blip on the fashion radar. Just going through her most recent collections you're likely to find some version or another in every one of them.

^ It's because he universalized it much more than Donna did, that's why people associate it with him much more than with her.
But I do agree with you, she's been around WAY before he was.

Oh LOVING this. Love the tailored pieces and in love with the dresses. I'm loving this subtle form of glam seen here. I'm especially loving Hanne's second look with the tailored metallic grey blazer, the all black jumpsuit on Liu, and the star printed dress from third to last.

Well, her dress looks like quite a copy of this dress:

I know Donna does draping and has been for forever, but it's just almost an exact copy, plus it's after Alber's show. Donna has probably done this look before, just like many other designers, but it's a little too close for comfort to pull it back out just a few seasons after Alber did it... But I'm not saying it's bad either. I like Donna's version better anyways. I also like this whole collection.

If that's your reasoning VogueParisLover, then maybe Alber was unintentionally thinking of these when he designed that. Truth is the elements that make up that dress are more Donna Karan than they are Lanvin; the single sleeve, the plunging draped neckline, the wrapped skirt that opens in front, hell, even the color.

Frankly more than anything the white dress reminded me of this one from this past Spring. Single sleeve, v-neck, white jersey...

Your abs right spike! Donna Karan has been doing goddess draping forever, way before Alber Elbaz at Lanvin, and draping is her USP
