Donna Karan S/S 2013 New York

So many great pieces! This really exceeded my expectations. I usually like some of the draping and that's about it. This time, I'm a little on the fence about the draping, but aside from that, there are some really incredible things here.

Loved the first half much more than the latter half. Overall a lovely showing by Donna.

I run hot and cold on Donna Karan, this is a cold.

I bet she is doing Donna Karan on mondays and DKNY on fridays.

I think it is way too conservative in it's silhouettes and colours, though the final gowns are pretty gorgeous, except of the pink one, which is horrible really.

lovin it! shes a master of the female body though the makeup makes them look like demons which probably helps not to make the collection too marchesa like

Im honest-to-God having a 90s deja vu moment with this collection.

Its good.

i loved loved this collection this is what a summer collection looks like! clean, soft, light and feminine!

A little disappointed with this collection. The colouring was so muted towards the beginning it was verging on boring. The requisite draping is all here, but it's not as flattering as usual and I'm not sure DK knew where she was going with it this time around, as the draping gave way to pleats and fringing. The outfit where the draping worked best was surprisingly on the one jumpsuit.
The colour change midway was very welcome and what worked best were the simple, more figure hugging looks......which were few and far between.
Still always very feminine and very recognisable.

A further accompanion to Raf Dior, nod in the direction of minimal Christian from LVMH. But, at times, in a drapey, asymmetrical slouchy way. Pristine, even cold near opening - fresh let's say - yet artful and sensual. Again a pace of serenity. It has that powdery dryness of Raf's Jil finale. But keeps twisting into liquid sheen. It was organic romance. If layers below coatdress level were seen they were gossamer fine, of lingerie weight. There were Raf/Phoebe skintight slightly sheer minimal tops stretching tautly. Elsewhere couture away from the body bulbous bud forms.

The shimmering powdery blue and pink gowns at around 7.30 mins in were divine and celestial. An elegant necked poetic dream for a woman or a girl.
