Dries van Noten

I am so completely in love with those gold silver chunky necklaces. So tempting... Thanks for posting Marvystone!

since it doesn't seem this question has been asked. Do people fake Dries? I was looking around on ebay and there are some cute, well priced items but I'm not sure if they are fake or not....? I can see the label but surely that is easy to replicate?

^ He certainly doesn't seem like a top 10 target ...

Love love love the store invite :crush:

meg I really dont think they are faked. I think the well priced items are usually just not as desirable, iconic pieces from several seasons ago, without tags or lightly used. I'm actually surprised at how much less people bid on used items, Ive saved a ton of money that way.

I don't think there are any Dries fakes, but there is one auction (currently ongoing on ebay), which has a weird size label attached to it. I don't want to post the link in case I'm wrong, but I have never seen a size label like it in any of DVN's pieces...

It wasn't the auction with the floral coat combined with the pinstriping down the front? Because that had the size tag attached as opposed to embroided on the DVN tag itself. That was the one I was watching, but in the end, I feared the coat would just be too small, even though I wanted to wear it open.

GG - I was thinking that as well. I think also since Dries is less known than other designers, people hopefully bid on the stuff less.

Hm...don't think it was that one, the one I have in mind was a floral dress (supposedly) from SS08...If you're still curious about the coat, you can message me the link ;)

DVN is quite generous with his sizing, so you might be alright after all (especially with his coats).

that's alright. it ended! At first I wasn't sure about the coat, but after contacting the seller I was confident it was authentic, just vintage. She used to work at Louis Boston, and it was the owner's coat, which she had given to the seller.

^ I also think Dries' original prices are often quite, quite reasonable for designer ... so the eBay prices should be even more so.

You would almost want to meet the person who would fake Dries ;)

joan shepp's buy for Dries this season is my favorite so far. i was at nordstrom's and it didnt even look like the same collection.

PS. I do remember seeing some fakes (or assumed them to be fake from pics and lack of tag, and by the prices), sellers were from Korea or South Korea...

Love Joan Shepp's DVN items

I really love this collection, the graphic black and white with hints of metallics and kimono influences, it's womanly and so chic. This top, with its tie back, might work for an expanding belly ...

tourist - I love that top. Barneys ordered it too, but unfortunately do not have my size. What size are you? Congrats BTW :)

brigadeiro - Eva Gentry is the owner of store called Butter in Brooklyn. They do not have a website, but you can email them through the gallery. I've worked with Carrie, and she's a sweetheart.

Ooh, thanks Mona! I must be blind, as I can't find the email on the gallery site...Although I can't afford anything for a while...
