Dries van Noten

luckyme: I'm sorry, I totally forgot to do that. They are both from Browns fashion.

Dries Van Noten online stockists

i have fallen madly in love with the f/w 09/10 collection but living in new zealand means i am quite limited to what i can and cant purchase! does anyone know any good stockists online for dries van noten?

^ I haven't tried on (nor seen anywhere in person) the shoes you posted ... but I agree that everything I did try on (and bought), I went up 1/2 size. I'm a US 8, and took 38.5. Some people have been buying the open-backed shoes smaller, but I would think the ankle strap on this one would limit you from playing around too much with the size ...

all have dries online...:flower:

bump....

Any thoughts on the new collection, now that it's starting to show up in stores?

I see it didn't get much love in the D&C thread, :(
but I'm actually quite taken with what I've seen in person.
Very cool and elegant, and super sophisticated colors...
He had me at Francis Bacon. :p

A few random things that have caught my eye:

Capa top--maybe inspired by Robert Capa?

Love the contrast of textures in the shoe and this pinky/fleshy color from the runway.

laika, seeing this in person puts it in a whole different light. barney's floor is full of an array of lovely "baconesque" colors. i love the way they have it racked by color, it reminds me of muted tertiary colors shattered in a mirror.

i saw the scarf and the bracelet. the bracelets and necklaces are wow! heavy, like most of his jewelry, he's one designer who doesnt skimp, ever...

i like the earthy pale fleshy pinks as well. they are sensual. the bottle green puts me off a bit and im disappointed the sweater i wanted was ordered in it rather then the camel.

i prefer this season to last, it's quieter, kind of sits in the back row, instead of screaming in the front... and has a shelf life that with time will age like a good velvety wine. at least that how i feel it B)

thanks for posting and if anyone has a chance to see this at barneys its as good as going to a gallery. really.

p.s. that bracelet is SO good.

i like these two from evagentry.com

Which sweater--do you mean that big cozy mohair one?

yes, thats the one. maybe id be better off with one of last years knits...;)

thank you lucky me! I really liked some rings you posted in another thread... as well as the DvN top you posted...

I like those shoes you posted, laika ... though I'd probably remove the tasselly bit myself ...

did you all see the interview with eva and gentry in nymag? :ninja:
The store is lovely though. :p

I'm really surprised to hear they didn't order it in the camel, esp. since it's such a signature. Bottle green is actually one of my favorite colors, but I def. prefer the runway version of that particular knit. oh and that dress you posted is lovely...looks like it has a digital print of a knit on it?

ta-ta, the shoe I really like is actually this, from the runway. Odd choice, I know but I like the contrast of the conservative kiltie with the (presumably) snakeskin heel.

mmm ... the color combos are indeed gorgeous. especially the fleshy sweater with the silver skirt and the blue with the caramel leather runway looks that laika posted. very elegant! i'm not sure if i will purchase anything this season, as the fabrics look too delicate for my lifestyle right now, but i'm enjoying everyone's picks!
