Dries van Noten

Laika, I just bought a new pair of the gold shoes on ebay.... I'm a bit considered about the size to be honest, although the measurements suggest that they will fit me fine... how are you finding yours? (crossing my fingers to be one of your true to size pairs...)

As long as you have not sized down, you should be fine. Mine are a half size bigger than normal (so they are super comfy) but I think I could have worn my normal size as well. :flower:

I have bought my exact size, so your answer sounds promising... Thank you!

I bought a pair of the gold croc embossed heels from last season in my real size (37) because they were the last pair available, and I would have appreciated the extra wiggle room for my toes. They definitely fit, but for the first couple of outings, it was a bit uncomfortable.

This thread is inspiring a lot of envy for me! Off to sigh longingly over my yoox dreambox . . .

Can't let this little beauty of a thread die so I'm inclined to post irrelevant though beautiful pictures as these items are so not avail.

Let's hope these turn up on ebay...

*Sorry if this tidbit is totally OT and incredibly prohibited. :ninja:

wiw - that is my favorite Dries spring collection. It was the collection that got me interested in Dries actually! I always feel so sad that I never got a pair of those silver flats. I dream about them still!

I have a few things from that collection. The grey dress (3rd pic you posted), a chiffon top, a blue skirt, and a black mesh wrap vest. Here are two outfits I had posted in the waywt thread a while ago, showing the last 3 items. That blue top/skirt outfit was head to toe Dries :innocent:

^ You're a vision. Perfect Dries girl, imo.

That was such an epic collection for him. He always has a stunner but that collection still leaves me breathless...

i have that grey dress you posted wiw..
the middle left one...

and a seafoam mesh vest...
probably like the one you have in black tourist...:p

your pics are so sweet...
don't know how i missed them when you originally posted them...but i don't remember them ....thanks for reposting...
...

tourist, you combined those like a dream. I can't see the first pic too well but judging from the second, WOWWEE. please take a picture of the dress too. If I see the flats I'll let you know.

both of you have that dress, than please both post pictures. it so pretty.

That's it softgrey... I have to break into your closet! You've got all the goods! :p

I agree with Lucky, pictures from softgrey & tourist plz! :woot:

thanks for the nice comments everyone!

softgrey, I cannot believe you have the same grey dress! I almost bought it in a beautiful burgundy color but decided last minute on the grey. Even though I love it, I hardly ever wear it. My fiance calls it my "tatty" dress :( I kind of wish I got the burgundy instead ...

luckyme - thank you, that is so nice of you to offer to look out for the flats for me! Although I've pretty much given up hope *sigh*

lord...
i'll try to dig up some pics to add since everyone else is posting but me...

:p

ok- that was easier than i thought...
it pays to be organized...:p
i've worn the dress several ways...

here they are...

thanks for posting those pics softgrey! completely amazing. I usually just wear it with a slip, sometimes belted, sometimes not. These are very inspiring

Softgrey, you're lovely! I love the third look, esp. Dries is so good when it comes to versatility.

talk about "how sylists do it thread" :flower:. thanks for the pictures, those are good, REALLY GOOD versions of the same dress. is the second a one piece leotard underneath? I like that version for fall and the third for winter, which makes it a three season dress, the first being spring/summer obviously.

If you guys don't stop I'll never get off this computer tonight.

you are welcome and thank you...

lucky...
the blk is a lg slv t and cropped tights...
i could never wear a unitard...
:ninja:...

...

yeah- i don't usually think of clothes by season...
just as individual pieces...

obviously it's hard to wear cashmere in august
or flip flops when it snows though...
^_^...

first i was belting it low...but then i think i decided that i like it belted higher...
have never worn it unbelted...

tourist ...your turn...
:flower:

you guys look gorgeous!

tourist, you are so consistent in your style...you have a very quiet way of wearing your clothes that is really lovely.

softie, I agree, it looks fantastic belted higher, as in the second pic. I love your layering.

I have always wished for that dress in black, so I could wear it with lots of chunky silver jewelry...like Dries styled by Ann.

luckyme, you need to post pics in this thread. I want to see your dress from last fall in action! :hardhead:

it just works so perfectly...

tourist you look really pretty too...
laika is right- you have a quiet subtlety to you that is really chic...

this is a wonderful thread...
thanks for the pics wiw....
