Hmm not very well known ... of course because I have relatives and stuff living there and they dont know her but she is known of coruse not very famous but there are people who know her and are fans of hers.

She's actually becoming quite a star...granted, the majority of the Chinese population certainly don't know her name yet, but those with enough awareness of the entertainment industry have definitely at least heard her name. But yes, she's often criticized for not really being a "unique" Chinese face

That's so silly. I think she's by far the most beautiful of the current popular Asian models and she doesn't need to be "unique". Why can't a Chinese girl just be beautiful as she is? Silliness

its wierd that the models who made it big in the western world have features that asians themselves don't like( excluding Du)

no so wierd really. eg. when a black model becomes famous, there will be posters who feel that she is not a "good enough" representative of the ethnic/cultural group.

hopefully with the advent of more diversified models (rather than just an minority) this will cease to be an issue.
