she is 23 or 24 years old now, since she is 19 back 2002, now is 2006, she is very old campare with others.

...... I am still not getting her... Big brands pick her just cuz she represents the huge market in Mainland China... I will not just be crazy about her like many other ppl(tongbao,chinese), and they like her just because she is also chinese. she must has something inside her not only be lucky to get some ads or shows, she is still very plain in ads/shows. considering her age, shouldnt she be much much better in shooting?

I doubt she's marketable in China. Most of them would rather see white classic models or big stars (both asian or caucasians). I also think she's very plain. Great skin though.

Haha, yah, such gorgeous finish on those pages, isn't it? It makes the scans appear so dismal, but that's the good thing about having it in print, I guess!

As much as I like her, she doesn't fit in with the rest in my opinion. She's no super. Ai Tominaga would fit in more in my opinion.

Why do you people insist on comparing her to Ai? The only thing they have in common is that they're both Asian. Ai's weird, alienlike and not at all attractive; Du, conversely, is pure and elegant. They should be appreciated (or disliked) on their own terms.

And as for people complaining that Du only has one facial expression, couldn't the same criticism be launched against Gemma Ward, Sasha P. and Snejana Onopka? Models aren't actresses; they're not supposed to emote.

Du, conversely, is pure and elegant.

I'n seeing these same attributes as you do. From what I've seen so far, I believe Du Juan can pull off elegance with ease.

She's so new on the scene and I also believe we have yet to see her full potential. I'm hoping the new ad campaigns (of which I am VERY excited) will show sides of Du's talent and personality that haven't been seen so far.

Models aren't actresses; they're not supposed to emote.

I disagree...on the runway there isn't a lot of call for emoting; but I think it's essential in advertisements and editorials. I think of modeling as a kind of "still acting" - my favorite models are ones that I not only find physically beautiful, but who speak to me in different ways in different photographs, and who can convey different personalities and moods convincingly
