even in vogue, she still look much shorter cuz her body strange proportion.
she looks dead before camera, lifeless...no meaning...so plain...what is the undertable deal between she and vogue china? one friend of mine refused to buy vogue china because of her...DU IS ALWAYS IN IT, AND THIS IS SO BORING...

I dont like her personal style...

^ Posts such as those definetly affirm that the perceptions of beauty and its standards vary SO SO much in Asia and Western countries. I find that so intruiging and interesting.... not dissing your posts juliadawn, just posting something that has been catching my eye a lot in threads on Asian models. 
MR DALE, you know what to make me confused is that asian people can enjoy the western beaty just at same standard with western people...
the only thing varies a lot is how we define an ASIAN BEAUTY.
to me, Ai is a beautifully model with good figure, she walks so elegantly nice on the runway. lv yan is good too, cuz she has such hot passion before the camera, she did a lot great shots for chinese fashion magazines, I think her look is strongly powerful in an asian way.
for DU juan... she really made us tired, fortunately, there is no other major fashion magazine takes her except Vogue china, so we can escape her if we want...there are some dissucions in Chinese fashion forums about her, the fact is most Chinese people dont get her...they just say "she was picked by foreigners and for foreigners, they just cant enjoy really beautiful chinese has the same good physical conditions like the other western models, so they chose DU, she has bad body/or a strange body, that makes the western people happy" or actually some guys say"cuz she is on the right time for Chinese economy" or few people likes her just because her position(she is more famous in international modelling than other Chinese models)/this means if today the one in inernational model industry is not her, Du, is someone else, like to say is Mr. Mao, they will like mao walks too...
the funny thing is how LV used her to sell products at China, since most chinese dont get her at all... I only see one pic of her in LV on the magazines, so I guess LV used her to help sell things to western people.
I dont mind her gets how popular at western country, just pls dont repeat her in CHINA, cuz after 2 year, we are so sick of her...
Ai is more popular at china, even she is japanese, she still gets more and more invitation for chinese fashion magazines' shots .

But just so that you know, many Chinese ppl, incl. me, enjoy Du Juan's appeal and walk, A LOT. And I do see her on covers of many magazines.And to me at least, her face sells them.
