I am looking to dye some white satin/silk/lace imitation stuff. Does anyone know any dye that would actually stay on the fabric? Thank you!

rit dye...
or tintex...

i've just been on a dying binge...
it's kind of addictive...
i'm now eyeballing everything in my wardrobe that is a light colour..
:shifty:...

hmmm...what colour should i do next???...:innocent:...

wait...
is it synthetic?......

it might not work...
if it's synthetic...almost nothing will work except a magic marker...
at best you'll just get a light tint...

Yeah. I need to check the actual fabric content... But it is all satins and things made from polyester and nylons. I think an Acid dye might work. I an only hope... What kind of results have you gotten on synthetics?

haven't tried synthetics for ages...
usually you can't get a very deep colour with synthetics...
the colour has to be added during the process when the fibres are made...
not later on...

so you can usually only get pastels at best...
lt pink, baby blue...that sort of thing...

good luck...:flower:

Aha. MORE reasons for me to continue my dislike-of-synthetics (except fleece!) binge.

Acid Dye...

Well, I need to do 3 wedding dresses... One light blue, one light yellow, one light pink. So I can only hope they work out. I am going to test the fabric first. But I am considering getting some Acid Dye. Maybe that will work?

haven't ever tried acid dye...
let us know how it works out...:flower:

the colours you have to do are pretty convenient...^_^

Most definitely. And yeah. its for a theatre production. I need a Sleeping Beauty (Aurora, for those of us who are oldschool enough, pink dress), a Beauty (the yellow), and a Cinderella (blue, lol). I am making a Snow White as well. All disney style so it will be pretty easy. Ill just dye a wedding dress then add some stuff. I dont mind using one of 20 dresses that we have. I just hope it works out! Thanks for the help!
