In fact, in the plus community, a lot of people are deeply disappointed by how small Elena Miro's runway models always are -- all 10s and 12s, or straight 14s on the tallest girls.

Speak for yourself. I'm part of that community and I know that I'm more disappointed by the fact that when you walk into an Elena Miro store you never see any of these clothes!! Plus models are always smaller than the actual customers anyway, that isn't going to change anytime soon.

And that model (Candace) you pointed out is a size 12.

Good points. Ford, Wilhelmina, etc., always run "plus" as 10-20 or so, and I suspect the women who get most of the work are 10-16. Even in Mode's heyday, the largest women I'd see in there were about 18 or so (Tomiko Peirano, Dee Dee Knoche).
And the Italian labels have a 10W. I've seen Marina Rinaldi at Loehmann's and Saks' Off Fifth in those sizes, languishing on the shelves.

it's normal sized really - and i think more designers, i mean even famous designers should cater to that audience too, body conscious women - think of all the $$$ they can earn from it!

Does anyone know more about Elena Miro? Can't really find anything about EM.

Looks pretty practical/wearable to me, but, can't one already find similar to this collection on and major city's high streets?!?!

Here is a rough translation from babblefish and the original. It seems is a brand, not a real person.

Elena Mirò is one of marks historical of the Miroglio S.P.A. Is born to the end of years Seventy as brand of apparel woman classic but it becomes the door then flag of the "Curves à porter" and from 2005 it parades during the week of the from Milan fashion. The woman Elena Mirò is therefore round and full, its ransom goes from the 46 in on. The brand it has known in the years to communicate its philosophy anti-thinness and in the ' 98 it has supported the advertising campaign "Hello Lean", vincitrice of the Grand Prix Adv, supporting also the agency of modelle from the name omonimo which the more curvilinear (today Hello Lean ones are leaned mannequin are one Good rib of the Agency of Milan). Elena Mirò, moreover, has been made promotrice of the volume exited in 2000, entitled Hello the Lean ones, that it recites in the subtitle it "the friends of Elena Mirò are told" and boasts the preface of Lella Coast, from always schierata from the part of "the true" women. The proceeds of the sales have been devolven to the AIPAN, an association that fight against the anorexia. In 2003 a calendar is been born some: six exemplary of generous beauty (in average carried ransom 50) wore heads of lingerie Elena Mirò, photographed from Attilio Goat. Recently the brand it has promoted also art extensions and competitions you turn to the exaltation of the soft curves, in total contrast with the obsession of the typical thinness of the fashion system.

Thanks, SomethingElse. I keep seeing references to "she" as in Elena Miro, but then I've seen more of something like you have posted.
I appreciate this from the quote you posted:

"Recently the brand it has promoted also art extensions and competitions you turn to the exaltation of the soft curves, in total contrast with the obsession of the typical thinness of the fashion system.

"Exaltation of soft curves"--that is a great definition of "fashion.":flower:
