Elie Saab Haute Couture S/S 2014 Paris

As much as I like to think that he is a one-note designer with very little creativity, you cannot deny how beautiful these gowns are. I love that he's back to using chiffon in such a light way as opposed to the several previous heavier collections that had a lot of embellishments.

He definitely knows his niche...

That sort of pearly detailing (like look 6) is so so beautiful.

I always like the collections, but at the same time they all look the same.

Beautiful but for the most part we've seen it all before. Maria Borges' look was my favourite.

Pretty but I always have a problem when trying to ID his gowns, I can never pin point which collection it from. I wish he would experiment a bit more, his FW09 couture collection was amazing.

As always this is very beautiful. The color palette is pretty, I especially like the last half. The "impressionist" printed gowns and the ones that mix the colors into black are gorgeous. The final look always look the same every season...

I absolutely love all the white pieces here, the best ones in the entire show. The last black gowns are beautifully made too, they totally made me gasp.
I don't even fell sorry about him not reinventing himself, it's sad to say this but I've lost that hope a long time ago

I just take the "if it ain't broke, why fix it?" mentality when it comes to Elie Saab. He's not one of the designer's who's going to redefine fashion every season.

He knows he's good at eveningwear and it make sense that he'll just keep doing what he's doing.

same ish, different day.

this is just so over designed to me. I would take Raf's experimental layering (the shapes are boring but the details were amazing) at CD any day over this.

The bride looks way too much like the bride from Spring 2013 Couture. WAY TOO MUCH. Other than that this is absolutely beautiful. Yes it is the same but who cares? His Pre-Fall collections prove that he's a great designer so, to me, he doesn't need to experiment weird things in his Couture.

I have no doubt with his talent to craft such amazing couture but the pattern is a repetition over and over again.

Elie Saab always looks better on the runway. When worn on the red carpet by actresses who are not as tall and slim the effect is overdone and matronly.
