Elle France February 22, 2024 : Iselin Steiro & Saskia de Brauw by Daniel Jackson

Ahahahahahah. Elle decided to just take what was good at Alt’s and Carine’s VP and adapt. The editorial, especially make-up portraits and B&W images, are so VP that it hurts. Good for them, ELLE puts Vogue to shame. And using Saskia with Iselin is also a core VP move as well. Someone there has been studying 10s VP very closely.

Do somebody at CondeNast can see this issue ? OMG ! the best issue from any magazine this year, so far ! ELLE France is so ahead from the other tittles.

Looks like I'm going to spend my extra money on this one... Gotta set my alarm clock for in about 4 hours not to miss it and rush to the Tabac-Presse shop nextdoor. Absolutely adorable from every point of view. Inspiring. And Iselin's navel is the illegal love of today. (By the way, just went from Vogue France's thread trying to unbelieve my eyes, and now I see this. THIS).

For those interested in vintage French Elle, there's also an interview with photographer and artistic director Peter Knapp.
Just have to love this post. Vintage French Elle sounds like those happy days I still had a reason to spend time in doctors' waiting room cheerfully. Because of those dusty zines.

Another resource to help me grow my insane collection! I own 26 of the issues in that collage included in the issue, so many more to find. I suppose there are worse things to buy. Maybe one day I'll post all of my scans, lol, but it's become an oddly relaxing hobby.

this editorial is pure gold! both models look fantastic and everything works! will definitely buy one!
it’s going to be an expensive month for fashion magazines.

ELLE is taking the past subjects from Vogue: models. They learned that they are the best people in terms of selling clothes, with class and fantasy. Models know how to pose, how to hold or wear the pieces, how to express with their faces. That's why I like more to see models and not celebs. The only good thing about doing fashion with celebs it's the diversity, it's more open. But hate with guts the abuse of photoshop. I know that models are retouched as well, but not in such way.

A magazine that targets to the original readers, it's a dream for the nostalgic crowd. I'm a fan of ELLE for that, and I can say the same with Esquire picking male actors with attitude.

The main editorial is drop dead gorgeous. 2024 has produced great imagery/fashion so far!!!
