Well... I'm not surprised to see her on this cover and I'd better not read what's inside (I probably won't as there's no editorial is really thrilling me and pushing me to buy it, nothing against Eva Herzigova but... I'd rather see Eva Helene). I've never been fond of her, nor of her music, excepted two songs and I'm worried my ears won't be able to listen to "le plus beau du quartier" with the same dreamy enthusiastic mood as before... There might be things that are more important and after all this is none of my business but...

i'm sorry to say that M. Sarkozy is our President and he IS the one who wants everything to be clear for the french...
I never ask for this... but he wants so, ok... let's everything be clear, even your private life....
I never really mind that Mitterand had an affair and a child extra-conjugale... of course, I do mind the fact he didn't tell France he had cancer... but it was so obvious...
anyway...
Sarkozy wants everything to be clear, he plays with his private life before...
so I don't understand why people are saying we don't care... I do care in his new era, as he's the one who wanted this...
this guy is just a scyzophrene...

maybe i should stop talking about him...
but i cannot resist...

^Well, I don't know if we should stop - I know the guidelines about politics here - cause this cover is clearly related to what happened between Carla and president s*rkozy so it's hard to tell... I can't stop myself and I don't think we're trying to promote any political point of view or anything just saying he's playing with his private life and uses it. I think it's silly but unforunately works on many people and worked for Elle who decided to put Carla on the cover. For once I would have prefered a neutral christmas theme for the cover...:ninja::innocent:

There might be things that are more important and after all this is none of my business but...

Well, sorry if you misunderstood the end of my post, I say that I don't care about their private life, not about the fact it's spread over the whole country via the medias

^yes Carla has a thread in the Art of Noise part...
I won't get into the polemic but honestly the last thing I wish for a chritmas cover was Carla (the s***) Bruni...
I'm sorry I just cannot bear her anymore...

nd yes she's the new Sarkozy's toy...
or Sarkozy is her new toy... when you see all the boys she was with...
how can you go from a philosoph to Sarkozy...
this is unbelievable truth...

Agreed (especially on the bolded part) :ninja:

cecilia... carla... next time sarkozy himself?
ELLE has always been a pro-sarkozy magazine... but it's kinda getting annoying now !

How predictable.. I'm happy for them if they're happy together and i guess i'm the only one here who's happy to have Mr Sarkozy as our president ... :innocent::unsure::ninja:

Anyway, the cover is boring as hell and i don't really like her as a model.

I guess they both have in common the fact that they're in REALLY good terms with the medias or at least that fascination for their image and influence on the medias.I remember when Carla was going out with Vincent Perez , there had been rumours that she had set the whole thing up with the press .I wonder how Arno Klarsfeld is linked with all of this, I mean he's Sarkozy's close collaborator as well as Carla's ex.

Carla !
What a good attempt to make people forget the K
adhafi case of last week
Every week a Brand new week for mister president !!

I've never been able to bear Carla ! ... seems it was even worse as I thought :ninja:

Congrats Elle

I knew the anti-sarkozy crew would make a little hate-fest in this thread  I love Carla, I voted for Sarkozy so I have nothing against the cover subject, but the cover does suck

 sorry to disagree but it's not really my point to make a "hate-fest" here and even if I sound biased :innocent:it's not related to my politcal opinion but simply the fact I find this cover is actually not accurated for Elle. I wouldn't like to see Ségolène Royal or Hilary Clinton or whoever, I just think politics has no place on an Elle cover, even if they talk a bit of politics inside, they don't do any "real" article about that, no deep analysis, it mainly doesn't sound serious to be honest. They should stick to models and actresses or whatever celeb rather than trying to look more serious as they actually are. Well, you can answer that Carla Bruni is a singer and was model, that's true but her modelling career is over now, really over and she has nothing to sell right now as a singer, her last opus was almost a flop if I'm not mistaken and the reasons why she's on the cover are just obvious. Or maybe this is a hidden way to re-launch the sales of her album :lol:
They should leave the gossips to Voici or Paris Match and the politics to news magazines and stay the mainstream fashion mag (with their obnoxious feminist touch if you like and their silly Fonelle stories) they manage to be.

This being said and apart from the reasons she's on the cover, the picture in itself really sucks, I totally agree ;)

that's true but her modelling career is over now

are you serious? she's part of the club of the originals Supermodels so her modeling career will never be over, she has recently done fashion editorials, the original group of Supermodels will never die. Cindy, Claudia, Naomi, Linda, Christy, Stephanie, Tatjana, Helena, Carla ... they will be with us FOREVER!

your 24 years old are doing their job here :innocent: :ninja:

Well, this has nothing to do with my 24 years old :)
It's a matter of point of view and everyone has its own. Mine is that their modeling careers (properly said, as I consider it) are over and they're now celebs, household names or whatever...
I don't want to go off-topic so I'm going to stop here and now.

I don't get what the big fuss is all about.

Is she notorious in France or something?

She's an ex-model, so appropriate for Elle.

^ ex-model, singer, maneater and dating newly elected French president Nicolas Sarkozy... So yes, she's quite notorious

She's stunningly beautiful. Classic killer model with beautiful cheekbones.

But very dangerous and calculated.
