Chicette Profiles - ChicReportAdmin - 7:38 am
3-Minutes with Elyse Taylor
Chic Report caught up this morning at the
Rosemount VIP Bar with the Face of the Sydney Festival 22-year old, 5’9 tall, international model
Elyse Taylor. Clad in a fuchsia Kirrily Johnston dress and her own standard model attire (a black leather biker jacket) we asked her:
Welcome home Elyse, what have you been doing since you arrived back in Sydney?
Thank you! I’ve been really busy with editorial shoots for Harper’s Bazaar, and Madison. I walked last night in the Alex Perry show, which was an exclusive.
So what are you excited about today?
Well today, I get to sit front row, which is a bit of a change. So I am really looking forward to that. Although, I must say, I did have fun last night on the runway!
You’ve walked for international designers like Marc Jacobs and Alberta Ferretti. What has been your favourite runway show experience?
Hmmm, I think maybe Dolce & Gabbana and Roberto Cavalli, - because you get to see just how much money goes into these shows – it is such a big production! All the little details and things that go into it – it’s crazy!
What do you love about Australian fashion, compared with say, New York where you are based?
Actually, I don’t really think there is that much of a difference anymore. I mean there are so many talented Australian designers showing and recognized overseas, like in New York. I just love Australian fashion, because our designers, they just get summer
down pat. The
cossies [swimwear], I go crazy buying designs …like Zimmerman and Tigerlily.
OK, if you love Aussie swimwear be sure to check out Flamingo Sands and Hotel Bondi Swim who are showing this week, and of course Jets by Jessika Allen.
Cool, thanks. I don’t know the others but yeah, I sure will! Jets do great cuts and fit the body so well.
What’s your favourite thing to do when you come home to Sydney?
Probably to have yum cha [dim sum] with my friends. And to eat as much as you can! Just to hang out with my friends really.
You have worked with very lauded fashion photographers like Patrick Demarchelier – among others – what was your favourite photoshoot experience?
Actually, it is always really nice when someone is able to capture a moment of you. You often don’t get those chances, of someone of that caliber to take a photo of you. I always feel very humbled.
Great to pull out and show the grandkids, perhaps when you are 82-years old?
Yes, look at me; I was
hot when I was young! [Laughs]
