Emanuel Ungaro S/S 09 Paris

Very pedestrian.
All those talented hands in the atelier and this is the best he could do with them?

It's not a bad collection, there are "pretty" dresses but that's all. I might be wrong but I think he has shown in Miami when he was designing under his own name and that's what this looks like. I was not impressed with his last collection and I'm not impressed with this. It doesn't look like something that should be showing in Paris and it doesn't look very Ungaro.

Dundas at least felt like he had a vision for this house. Esteban looks like he is just showing nice dresses. I can't quite put my finger on it but it just lacks something. There's no "fire" or "passion" in this.

^ And the sad thing is, Ungaro is nothing if not firey and passionate.

I still don't even understand why he was chosen. The things I've seen from his own work aren't impressive and wouldn't motivate me to hire him to head a couture house.

I don't think I've ever missed Valli more.

:yuk: This is awful...the dresses have been done a million times...the old designer was better...

this is terribly tacky...

I kinda like Esteban's last season actually.

But he shift to a worse direction unfortunately....
