Emma Watson

I'm quite shocked too, I wouldn't have expected that from her. But I didn't like her "very childish" appearance, and I'm sure it would have been a problem for her movie career. Now she looks so much mature and -dare I say it- someone to start taking seriously :)

cant believe it. i liked it more with long hair. she is pretty anyway...

Emma Watson says having New York stylist Rodney Cutler give her a daring new ‘do was “the most liberating thing.”

“The stylist just grabbed the back of my hair and took a whole ponytail of hair out,” The 20-year-old actress shared with EW. “It felt amazing. I love it.”

Emma said that she’s finally able to change up her look now that her work on the Harry Potter films is over.

“I missed all that experimentation that most teenagers go through,” she shared. “I’ve wanted to do this since I was about 16, so as soon as I had the chance I was like, ‘Right. This is it.’”

OMG!! I love Emma's new haircut. It looks amazing on her and it makes sense for her to go for such a drastic change. Like she said she hasn't been able to experiment with her hair like most teens because shes been playing Hermione for the past ten years! I think it looks amazing on her. She looks like a little fairy. :) Storm models just tweeted that they love it too. :D

Well, it's nothing if not bold! She's got some real chops (bad pun, I know ) to do this. Admire her for that. Besides which, hair grows back. It definitely makes her look older, and if it's about rebelling, and moving into a new phase, then it makes sense.

We love a risk-taker, regardless of whether we love the new do.

Does this mean the gamine look is coming back? Jean Seberg in "Breathless"? Winona in the 90s? Certainly other 90s / 60s looks were evident on the fall 2010 runaways, and in the adverts thereof.

The Entertainment Weekly photo is stunning! I can't wait to see all her DH promotion photo shoots...hopefully featuring this new hairstyle.

And also her red carpet looks. This new hairstyle opens up a whole new range of possibilities. :D

I absolutly love her short hair ! I've always loved pixie haircut on girls and she pulls it very well. It's very Mia Farrow/Carey Mulligan, I love it.
I understand people who are shocked by this sudden change, we were used to Emma-with-long-hair for ten years, but Emma is moving forward, she is leaving Hermione behind and wants to grow up and change for a bit. I did the same myself at the beginning of my first year at college and it was so refreshing, I felt like I was finally leaving high school for good and becoming 'the real me' (it sounds so cheesy when you write it...)
Moreover, long hair has always made her look like a fourteen-year-old, whereas, in my opinion, short hair makes her look more mature and more adult.

^Hideous? Boyish? Are we talking about the same person?

Emma's one of the most feminine, stylish, intelligent celebs in the world. Just because she cut her hair, she's all of sudden hideous and boyish? Many celebs have done this before. It's a classic look and it looks fabulous on her.

Not everyone is going to like it, but it is her hair and she's just having fun. There's no need to call someone hideous.

I know, right? I mean, we are all entitled to our opinions but Emma? Hideous? Please.. What world are you living in?

Give it a month or two, the hair will get better..

not 100% sure if the second pic is real, it looks shopped

I've gotten used to it now, and have to say I still do not like it at all. Like, really do not like it. I'm never really a fan of short hair like this one girls anyway if I'm honest, but with someone like say Carey Mulligan, I don't really mind it. But not on Emma. Personally I just don't think she's got the type of face to pull it off. Despite being a beautiful girl.

I love the new haircut!, she has soft features and can pull it off, very lovely.

She probably wanted a change after finishing filming Deathly Hallows, and I don't see how she won't be getting press with this haircut (justjared reported she was doing press appointments in NYC) , it opens a whole new world of posibilities and looks to explore now imho, it will be very interesting to see her featured in some magazines in something different than she usually does.
