Actually I like the dress, and find it very Erin.
it's coherent with her other event outfit choices, and I love the fact that it's not the dress you'd usually see on the red carpet.

Like Andrea said, I think the gown fits her whole vibe, and it's gorgeous. She looks stunning.

seriously I LOVE THIS!
I love how her red carpet outfits look similar in style to her candid one. It has that same "indian" vibe.
She stays true to herself no matter what, and for me that's why she never misses even when I would think differently if worn by someone else.
