no, i don't think so... sometimes i feel like her 'kookiness,' if you will, is rather affected. even if it isn't, it still seems surface rather than bone deep, like bella's craziness. eva's kind of quintessentially eccentric french chic, whereas Bellatrix is just truly insane.
plus, i think helena bonham carter PWNED that role.
I actually think Eva could be a really good Bella. Honestly she's definitely more beautiful that HBC but HBC was very very good even if we didn't see much of her on-screen.
When somebody first told me that Helena was playing Bellatrix, it seriously just fit so well. She has the depth to be completely insane. I agree that Eva comes across better as quirky rather than mentally ill.
I was just watching a segment on FTV with her being interviewed about Casino Royale. The way she speaks and holds herself makes her even more beautiful
Today, I was contacted by the association Grandes Ecoles City Circle that organises regularly events destined to the French community of London.
They wanted to inform me of the voting, via Internet, for the “Frenchie of the Year”. This election will allow the net surfers to vote for the five most remarkable Frenchies of 2007 in five different categories who live and work in London and who represent a community of 10,000 people!
Eva is nominated in the category “Artist and Writer” (”Artiste et Ecrivain”) for her contribution to this area. The other nominess in the same category are: Marc Levy (writer), Sylvie Guillem (dancer), Yasmina Reza (writer, artist), Renaud (singer) and Noémie Lenoir (model and actress).
An awards ceremony is scheduled for next September.
