She did grow up in Canada but in British Columbia/Alberta not the French part. I read an interview once where she said that no one in her family speaks French so she must be self taught.

I am also from BC. Canada is a bi-lingual country and every product and information has to be written in both languages and any formal speech or event has to be spoken in both.

It is mandatory for school children to take some french. Some stay in for the min. years and others carry on until they graduate and post.

Maybe she did take years of it in school.

But really only in Quebec do Canadians speck French.

Cute interview! She isn't fluent in French, though. She makes a lot of mistakes and you can tell that her mother tongue is English. Adorable nonetheless
