I have recentlyt discoverd that there is a way you can get eyelash extentions put in and i would really like to try it out. Has anyone ever done it before? or know any information about the process and outcome of it? Lemme know!!!

well they literally glue them onto your real lashes
they are "supposed" to last for a really long time and you are supposed to do the touch up every three months or so.
id say they last for about a month and a half at the most... its kinda heavy too but if done right, it looks great :)

by the way are you asian?
asians tend have shorter eyelashes and having the extensions can really make a difference... but if you are caucasian... (=longer eyelashes) i dont really see the point of getting them done...

I dont have extentions but i have myn died. the tips of your eyelashs are longer so by getting theem died they look longer

this girl got them done and described them on her blog --closettherapy.blogspot.com

i've attached pictures of what hers look like.
she says they cost about $250 (Koreatown in LA, I'm guessing) which includes the initial application and 2 refills, which she said should last about 3 months. every refill after that is $50 and should be done every 2 months

she also kinda describes the process...so if you're curious, you can check it out. :flower:

the procedure itself sounds kind of weird...

she said the woman taped her bottom eyelids to her cheeks and then had her close her eyes. the procedure went on for like 1.5 hrs while the woman glued each hair individually to her eyelashes. then she used really pointy tweezers to set the glue and to pick off any excess glue. finally, she used another tool to curl the lashes together to set the flue into a curled up postition

basically, though, she says she doesn't feel them at all (after the first hour, which i'm sure she was just getting used to them)... i'm sure she would have mentioned if the procedure was at all uncomfortable...

overall, it seems as though she had a very positive experience...

They look finer and more delicate than natural eyelashes.

I guess you can't rub your eyes if you are tired if you have extensions glued in.

i think you can...
she said she can swim, go to a sauna, use eye-makeup remover (which involves rubbing) etc.

so i dont see why you couldn't...:p

Personally I'm very scared with experimenting with my eyelashes.
But if anyone really want to have them I don't see why. Seem to be quiet
safe ;)

Me too I'm a bit scared to put many times the fake eyelashes. If there is a special occasion it's okay you put it, but for days.... no no.... you should make your eyes look natural. Try some mascara that make a fuller eyelashes. For me I like Chanel Flextencils. It's really great on me. I tried and tested another one like maybeline, loreal, estee lauder magnascopic, they're never make me satisfied. You try some, come and visit the beauty shop.

ewww... I wouldnt do it to myself... And what if they fall out later and take the real ones with them?!!!

scary... i don't think i could sit still for 1.5hours while someone applied gobs of glue close to my eyes. though they do look good on her.

I would try it out... if it wasn't so costly.

Interesting I had no idea it could be done, thanks for raising the question MoMoCiTa and for that intersting link fashionologie. Karma coming your way :flower:

Eyelash Extensions

I have been hearing about Eyelash Extensions alot has anyone else heard anything...does anyone know where to get them done? I live in New Jersey but would go to NYC...

You mean permanent ones?

I've forgotten the technical name for it, but what happens is, the surgeon slices off the top layer of the skin at the nape of your neck (where all the baby hair grows) and attaches it to your eyelid... one thing though, the hair still grows so you will have to (unless you want EXTRA long eyelashes) trim your 'new' eyelashes.

Anyway, I'm sure there are other methods!

no that might be a little to severe..I saw them being done a tv they add fake ones to your natural ones but they last for up to 3 weeks..Paris hilton had them done I think

Oh right! ... maybe its just extra-tough-waterproof and other make up removing product proof super glue?..
