F/W 2010 New York Fashion Week Gossip

Academy of Art shows at the tents every season at Bryant Park, but this season they either did not invite as many editors as before, or the editors just did not feel like showing up. I think they are focusing on accommodating the students and the student guests instead.

Kesha, running out of ABC Carpet and Home after the Erin Wasson show, complaining about how cold she is (because she is pantless). She saw a guy with his face half painted in black, half in white, and freaked out.

^That thread is so funny! Thanks & karma for sharing Sonyagirl!

I can't remember everything, unfortunately, my schedule is too crazy and I am not getting enough sleep....

Tinsley Mortimer was sitting by herself in the lobby of Bryant Park Hotel around 3pm yesterday, looking quite melancholy, almost as if she wanted someone to take her picture.

The front row at Rebecca Taylor had basically everyone from the Hills, and I think someone from 90210, plus Mena Suvari, plus Carmen Electra, who looked totally out of place. She looked much older than everyone else and was wearing a something a bit too "dressy" for a day show.

Mena Suvari looked scared and freezing getting into the Malandrino show. She attended with a short guy (maybe her SO?). She seemed frazzled inside, a bit unnerved with the commotion. (Malandrino presentations are always overpacked.) An aggressive blogger? (or journalist for her own publication) accosted her and asked for an interview.

Custo Barcelona was a fun show, but the music was so loud and there was too much strobe lighting.

Tribal a la Flintstones seems to be a big trend for fall. Designers seem to love the aggressive mixed fur coats, nothing classic about them.

Hamish Bowles went from the Malandrino presentation straight to the Behnaz Sarafpour presentation a couple blocks away. He went immediately to the makeup exposed backstage area to discuss the collection.

Some of the models at the Behnaz show were so new, they looked very self-conscious posing for the cameras by themselves.

Commonwealth Utilities did not just offend with the invitations (imitation war medals), the space was grungy and at least one guest walked out before the showing because it was so hard to see.

Before the Vassilios Kostetsos show, a woman wearing a blue rabbit fur jacket was gushing "I love fur more than anything. I even want a fur engagement ring." Then she burst into song.

Karen Elson started posing for the camera with Zoe Kravitz at the Erin Fetherston show, but the photographer motioned for Karen to move aside. Karen laughed, "I am being upstaged."

The fashion crowd never skips the Barneys party, this year it was a book signing for Olivier Theyskens. Anna Wintour and almost all of Vogue was there.

The Y-3 ending was hilarious, Yohji Yamamoto is attacked by a male model, but Yohji wins. Then a fierce female model appears and Yohji is knocked to the ground.

The transition had a bunch of models racing to the end of the runway. People thought it was the end of the show, but it was just halfway over.

The gift bag was a Y-3 t shirt with a heart on it.

At Christian Siriano there were no more Victoria's Secret models in the front row. But the gift bag did have Victoria's Secret perfume.

As a whole, gift bags are becoming more generous this season.

At Jill Stuart there was a problem with the sound. It went silent for maybe 15 seconds, but it seemed like an eternity. Also, at the end, the last model came out really late. Someone commented the model got lost.

Also, the biggest star was Michelle Trachenberg, the paparazzi went crazy for her. The second biggest star is the curly hair tall girl from 90210. After the show was over, she asked her friend what she thought of the show. Her friend said "it was amazing" (in a monotone voice). The 90210 did seem really giddy to be at Jill Stuart.

Mena Suvari was there, but, again she seemed to be ignored.

At Rebecca Taylor, the front row included Julia Stiles with long, wavy hair. She looked bored during the whole time.
