F/W 2010 New York Fashion Week Gossip

The nicest celebrities are probably the hosts from America's Next Top Model. They are always happy to pose, happy for impromptu interviews. They attend a million shows. They are only photographed if there aren't really that many celebrities at the show.

At Rad Hourani, someone sat in Susie Bubble's seat, so she asked the PR girl if she could sit in another empty front row seat. (The answer was yes.) Susie was basically the only person wearing color at that show. Rumi Neely (fashiontoast) sat 3rd row with her bf. She spied Susie Bubble and came down to talk to her for a little bit before the show started. Rumi is skinner and smaller in person.

Rad seemed to have better control of not overbooking the show. There was a long standing room only attendees outside, but not like last year when they closed the doors super early.

Rumi Neely attended the Bebe Soho opening party. She looked so frazzled. Definitely not her scene. She quickly left. Kim Kardashian never showed up (or at least I never saw her, and it definitely did not seem like she was there, because you would have noticed). It was sponsoered by Elle, but they only left magazines; and Sephora (but there were no gift bags). Little Boots was DJing. She was cute, very tiny. It was a strange crowd, not fashiony, the few fashion people who were there wondered who were all the attendees, where did they come from.

At Dennis Basso, the whole Vogue crew was there. Anna Wintour was being mugged by paparazzi. Even Derek Blasberg sat across from her and took pictures (as a joke). The front row was half missing. A pretty empty show (partially due to the horrible weather). PR girls tried to get people to come down to the front row, but people did not seem to want to bulge.

At Pamella Roland, the biggest celebrity was Brooke Shields, who looked gorgeous. It was very sweet when Pamella went and hugged her family and brought them all onstage at the end. Mena was also there, and so was that girl from 90210 (the tall popular one).

Maggie Rizer attended Max Azria. Immediately after she was at Dennis Basso. Because everyone was trying to take pictures of Anna Wintour, and she sat across from Anna Wintour, she kept getting knocked into. A woman was very apologetic even though she was not knocking into her. After that woman took Anna's picture, she turned around and started taking Maggie's picture, causing the paparazzi to turn around and take Maggie's photo, ignoring Anna for a little bit. (Anna looked relieved when this happened.)

For Dennis Basso, Maggie put on a leopard fur coat. I almost thought she changed her outfit in between shows.

Andre Leon Talley was talking to an older, very distinguished-looking woman (I am thinking a client) outside the tents, under the awning, for awhile. He was saying how beautiful the Dennis Basso show was.

Erin Wasson was a sweetheart at the Maybelline interview event. She entertained requests from even unknown bloggers.

 love it

Bill Cunningham was most interested in photographing the child one of the attendees brought along with her. He turned around and started photographing her (in the second row).

They pulled the runway plastic really early, the show did not start for about 5 minutes after everyone thought it was supposed to start.

For Alexandre Hercovich, the seating was messed up (at least in my section). The numbers wrapped around so instead of a 2nd row seat, you were in the 3rd row, for example. PR tried to fix this by asking people for their seat cards and moving them to their appropriate seat.

At G Star, there were a lot of celebrities: Kelly Osbourne (sitting next to) Shannon Dorethy, John Legand, Liv Tyler, the guy from Melrose Place who steals from his father, and a lot of people I do not know (but were photographed)

If Anna Sui's PR (KKR) tells you to wait in standing around the fountain, that means you are not getting into the show.

The best swag is probably the Jeremy Scott Longchamp bags. And, again, he is back in New York, ending fashion week with (one of) the last parties. Everyone in the downtown crowd was there. Jeremy was wearing a lot of silver sequins. An Asian woman dressed like Lady Bunny was also there.

Big Richie Rich party tonight at the Gates.

At William Rast afterparty, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel looked very cozy and happy.

Jeremy Scott is back in NY, he had a crazy afterparty in this basement in midtown under a hotel. The hotel is so big that you get really confused. Even the PR was confused to where the entrance of the party was. The problem is, once you went upstairs, the elevator would not bring you down to the first floor because it was messed up. But the down escalator was broken and blocked off. Finally PR and everyone else just moved the caution sign aside and walked downstairs. At JS there was a stage with multiple performances (I have no idea who they were), but Misshapes DJed at the end. There was a VIP lounge on the second floor of the club, but after like 1am, no one manned the doors.

Vivienne Tam presentation and after party was packed. It was held at her store in Soho. It was a mostly Asian crowd.

Marc Jacobs afterparty was for employees only, a much smaller affair than the Lady Gaga concert-party he had last season.

G Star was at Tenjune. The celebrity VIP party was right after the 7pm show, where they also served dinner. This time it did not clear out at 10:30 when all the other guests arrived.

Many fashion week parties are early, like 6-8 or 9-11/midnight.

Trying to remember more things ... it was a crazy time, too much going on.
