Fair / Pale Skin

id rather be pale than super gross tan, like all fakey looking.
right now my body's kind of tannish (i guess) and my face stays paleish..
wahhh.

^yup, same here.

Its so hard for me to find a good body spf and I only use a 70spf on my face and neck.

Im so pale its unreal people always comment on it .. i always get forgian tourists looking at me and calling me an english rose (bit werid seems as ive got other races in me lol) but seriously i love being pale and standing out .. people look at me as if im some kind of werido lol .. but im literally white and i love it  i make all the goth kids jeleous hehe

if one more old ladie goes to me ,.. you feeling ok ?? you look pale lol i swear ill scream lol

Aww snowqueen your lucky! Being pale is so sweet and pretty. I usually get the same comments around Fall/Winter. I have a very light tint of a tan in the summer, either that or i'm burned!

^I used to be that way, and now I tan easily? I don't like being tan though. I have to go to the beach tomorrow for the first time this summer and I don't know how to avoid it. I'm terrified of further ruining my skin.

It's very difficult for me to get a good foundation and concealer that matches my skin tone. All are too dark for me :( And I'm pale, but now extremely pale.

Have you tried Bareminerals? I have it and it works wonders on my pale skin. I mix the foundation in "light" and "fairly light" and then I use their "bisque" (which is their concealer). It's slightly expensive but totally worth it!

I used to fight how fair i was by laying out in the sun for hours, but to no avail - i would burn like a mother and then go back to my original colour, except on my face where the freckles would come out like crazy. Over the years Ive pretty much grown to accept my pale skin, even though it comes with not being able to find quality foundation and powder products light enough to match. Oh, and the "so, are you like albino?" insult insult i get because im also very blond is really annoying. Fortunately I found a really great sunscreen for the face that Im hoping will help my freckles fade over time. Its made by Neutrogena, its called Sheer Touch or something like that and it comes in SPF 45 and SPF 55, but I love it because it doesnt feel oily, it doesnt make your face look shiny and it goes great under makeup. It's also waterproof, sweatproof, rubproof and oil free. One warning, however, I had a reaction to it around my eyes which makes the area burn any time any substance comes in contact with it, but overall its still a very good product.

It's only been the past couple years that I have begun feeling comfortable with my red hair and pasty-pale skin. In past years I have tried all forms of self-tanning (because if I attempt to go out in the sun I just turn bright red!), and it has been really difficult to avoid this year -- not being tanned really made me stand out while on vacation for the past couple weeks ... and everyone I was with (mostly guys) kept telling me how I look like a ghost, but I kept applying my Vichy SPF60 on my body and SPF45 on my face, and I can happily report that I still have natural, pale white skin even after spending 8 days straight on the beach ... and no horribly painful sunburn to deal with!

Foundation is a problem for me too. Maybe there should be a line of makeup specifically for pale-skinned people?? Foundation is the worst, but coordinating eye shadows and lipsticks that don't make me look like a clown is a problem sometimes too!

^ lol i turn bright red when i walk under the sun/heat like in 5 min!!!

Oy yes! I'd walk to school everyday and unfortunately I had to walk facing the sun and I was so embarassed

ah I so identify. But us pale skinned people have to be even more careful than others with tanning. I think I've read somewhere that because we have less melanin in our skin we are more susceptible to cancer. I'm not sure how true that is. I also read that people who avoid the sun frequently and are then subject to over exposure have a higher risk of cancer.

For foundation I swear by Prescriptives custom blend. I'm pale but have strong pink undertones and it works wonders. My only problem with being pale is that any 'imperfection' shows up a lot more. It's easier to hide problem skin and problem areas (ie cellulite) with a tan than with pale skin.

^ I don't know the exact reason either, but pale skin is more sensitive for sure.
I go for spf 50 this summer. ^_^

Also i use whitening mask to brighten my freckles.

oh anyone tried the mac make base for face 50spf???
i need somthing high spf but i dont want like a real sunscreen for my face (the sunscreen i used can remove my makeup and ruin my lash comb!).
and any good cream blush?

That doesn't fade your freckles?? I have pale skin and freckles, but over the past few years they have faded.. I'd kinda like for them to come back.. What product do you use??

^ I mean fading freckles.
I like freckles, but clean looking pale skin i like better. I use kose sekkisei lotion mask once a week.

^ I agree. I like plain pale skin better than pale skin with freckles. And if you're just white without freckles, you can actually get a fake tan properly
