The Devil Wears Prada Movie

^^ I know that sounds silly but i know a couple of people in the industry that do that and get away with it, ud also be surprised though at the amount of samples and clothes that just get throw out by designers or donated.

I wanted to know who james holt was based on.. and that party she goes to in the nyc loft, i have never seen a party like that , i wonder where it was supposed to be

once the season is over, non?
that's weird because i've always heard that samples were UNIQUE!!! so if you stole one.... that's pretty lame!!!
some designers offer some stuff for sure but not their current collection... and if they do it's access. but that's always what i heard.... then maybe things have evolved in 4yrs.....

besides, Andy didn't take that stuff herself. an editor gave it to her (Nigel) and since pretty much the only people who seriously could get her fired are Miranda (she couldn't give a damn) and Nigel (who gave it to her in the first place), i'd say she's save.

One thing that is definitely fake. Is that Anna would never ever hire someone who never heard of her name or VOGUE before as for her assistant or even in any department under of her chief.

When Miranda goes into her famous speech about (can't believe I know this off by heart) "it's not just blue, it's not turquoise, it's not lapis. It's actually cerulean. You're also blithely unaware that in 2001 Oscar de la Renta did a selection of cerulean evening gowns and I think it was Yves Saint Laurent wasn't it, who did cerulean military jackets..."
(okay, a bit rusty)

Neither designer did cerulean in any of their 2001 collections.
Dun dun dun duuhhhhhhhh!

from imdb: But what you don't know is that that sweater is not just blue, it's not turquoise, it's not lapis, it's actually cerulean. You're also blithely unaware of the fact that in 2002, Oscar De La Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns. And then I think it was Yves Saint Laurent, wasn't it, who showed cerulean military jackets?

Lol, thank you, I originally saw the full quote on Imdb - I meant 2002 - they still didn't do cerulean in their collections.

:flower:

I think the producers of the movie were very scared of Anna because Miranda is portrayed much better in the movie than in the book! I wonder which version is more accurate....

i actually went to check the Tom Ford collection Nigel was talking about and, it was indeed one of my faves.

The Miranda in the book was supposed to be blonde and English. I don't know which I prefer! I want to marry Miranda a la Meryl

i'd prefer the book Miranda. the movie Miranda was too human and.... well.... a lil bit kind. while the white blonde, british Miranda was just pure ice queen.

the '2000$' mj bag andy gives her friend retailed for much less.. though i think someone (berlinrocks?) have pointed this out, quite some time ago.

The book is much better in every way.
My imagination of Miranda in the book is much superior than Miranda in the movie in every way.

Just like the real Miranda in real life!!B)

actually i think ysl did do cerulean military jackets , i remember almost getting one, and then was happy i did not

The NY Times I think in their review pointed out Anna would never carry a Prada bag with a GINORMOUS logo like Miranda does in the very beginning of the film.

Argh...most annoying part for me was when she gives the Large Marc Jacobs Multipocket bag to her friend and her friend is like "oh my god, this bag retails for $1900!"

no it doesnt!

it retailed for $975..and the smaller/regular size retails for $895

I hate that part....because I own the bag
and me and my friends are sitting in the theater when they said that in the movie..and my friends all shoot me this glare like "you liar! you spent how much on your bag!?!?!?!"
and i was like "no no! they're wrong! they're lying!"
