I finaly saw it and I was also dissapointed. It was OK but I expected more..Meryl Streep was great though!

I've just watched the film and I was dissapointed, I liked the book much more! I actually laughed reading the book, but the film was not so funny...
However, Meryl Streep performance is great! But what I liked the most about it are the clothes...

Haven't read the book. I liked the movie, thought Meryl Streep was fantastic. Liked (most of) the clothes. Think Anne H. is quite pretty...hm...but it seems many here thinks the book is better, so perhaps I should read it...

I was really disappointed as well. I guess the german translation was really bad and so it wasn't really funny... I don't know if it is funny in the english version though, I just thought it would be.... They changed most of the plot of the book and kinda transformed it into a kitschy hollywood story with a weak storyline and a bad happy end...
I will watch it again in english, when the dvd is out and I hope it will be better...

I just saw the film at the cinema today and I really liked it. Thought Meryl Streep was great in it.

I read the book when it came out and didn't rate it at all - it didn't really keep my interest and was instantly forgettable but I enjoyed the film.

what do you expect from a film [ or book] entitled this.......definately not a political statement........but i guess its about big time fashion politics.

i liked and thoroughly enjoyed the film and thught everyone was great in the movie except ann hathaway who is a julia roberts 2......one dimensional and cliched.......i also found the boyfriend such a miscast .... and found the scenes and the issues betwn the two ie anne and boyfrend so squeamish and boring......i know its from the book......but when you see it on screen its so obviously squeamish.....the boyfriend who cant understand the work requirements of girlfriend which leads to arguements....and also the I HATE FASHION bit........please .......JUST QUIT the job if you dont like it.....

good lightheartd movie but the storyline was flawed to begin with.....what appealed was the insider fashion appeal........

I hated the movie. The book was so much better. The ending was so messed up in the movie.
