From Brooklyn to Brazil to Boston, the fashion industry is already buzzing about the news that this year’s globe-spanning extravaganza Fashion’s Night Out, is back! The 2010 edition of the biggest fashion party in history promises to be equally epic, splurge inspiring and full of even more stylish surprises.

The goal of Fashion's Night Out is to celebrate and support the fashion and retail industries with full-price shopping.

This year, on September 7, Fashion's Night Out is making history by putting on the biggest public fashion show in New York City history. Guests will get a look at the best fall 2010 trends, modeled by the industry's runway pros. Tickets will be available while supplies last through the Lincoln Center box office or at LincolnCenter.org/Fno beginning on August 19. A portion of the processed will benefit the New York City AIDS Fund.

The 2010 FNO will now spanning six days. Not only will the worldwide shopping event be six times as long, but it will also span 16 countries. The festivities will kick off in France September 7, hitting the U.S., Britain, Italy, Spain, China, Portugal, India, Russia, Japan, Taiwan and Germany until the global sopping frenzy comes to a close September 16th in Greece and in Turkey. Fashion’s Night Out 2010 Will Include the Largest Public Fashion Show in NYC History

Fashion’s Night Out, the big shop-hopping party dreamed up by Anna Wintour and her industry friends last year, is really planning to outdo itself this time around.

To mark the September 10 celebration of shopping, fashion, and celebrities, not only will there be an FNO clothing line (okay, shirts and hoodies) and a one-hour CBS special documenting the event, but now it’s been announced that a huge public fashion show, involving over 200 top models and 1,500 random ticket-holding guests, will take place on September 7 at New York Fashion Week's new home, Lincoln Center.

As for the clothing, it’ll be a mash-up of pieces from different designers, handpicked by Vogue editors to educate the masses on the fall 2010 trends. How very democratic!

We're just hoping attendees don’t all consist of investment-bankers-and-their-girlfriends types.

Tickets for the show — which is completely exciting just for the 200 models alone — will be available at the Lincoln Center box office this summer.

The night will be produced by Vogue and SPEC entertainment, a company that’s done events for Tom Ford, Vera Wang, DKNY, Stella McCartney, and Marchesa, and a portion of the ticket proceeds will go to the New York City AIDS Fund.

This year Vogue has managed to stretch Fashion's Night Out from one evening to a full week of excitement. It begins with New York City's biggest ever public fashion show in Lincoln Center on September 7. Though tickets were damn near impossible to buy (anyone have any luck lately?), you can watch the show live online, which is free and will probably be a much more comfortable situation than the alcohol-free crowded-subway feel the live show might have. Also, you can watch Vogue's André Leon Talley — the best reality-TV judge in the history of reality TV — host a live webcast of the show on CBS.com with Vogue-approved slashie Hanneli Mustparta, the model and blogger. Their webcast begins at 7.

The excitement continues on September 10, of course, when Fashion's Night Out takes place at retailers around the city. If you don't want to leave your home and enter the cluster**** and gridlock that are likely to occur again this year, with even more stores participating than last, you can stay home and read Tavi on the Internet! A source close to Barneys tells us she's flying in with her dad to tweet Fashion's Night Out for the store, and post live to its blog BSides on Barneys.com.

And if you sleep through all that, you can watch everything you missed and then some on CBS on Tuesday, September 14, when the one-hour documentary special on the planning of Fashion's Night Out airs at 10 p.m. So far we know the footage includes lots of fancy early-morning breakfast meetings, cameos by international Vogue editors, and probably lots more screen time of Fashion's Night Out queen Anna Wintour.

We feel like sportscasters going over all this stuff; FNO is like the World Series of fashion, catchy three-letter acronym and everything. Maybe the best approach to absorb it all is to make the boyfriend or husband watch all of it with you as you jump up and yell every time Anna comes on the screen or Tavi references a movie or television show that was popular in the nineties.

If you were one of the lucky 1,500 to score tickets to Fashion’s Night Out: The Show, then consider it money well spent. Vogue promised that there would be 150 top models (that’s, like, a ten-to-one normal-person-to-model ratio!) at New York City’s largest-ever public fashion show, and the names are even bigger than we expected. Alessandra Ambrosio, Gisele Bündchen, Naomi Campbell, Lily Donaldson, Karolina Kurkova, Adriana Lima, Angela Lindvall, Sasha Pivovarova, and Coco Rocha will all be walking the runway at Lincoln Center. And if you can’t watch the spectacle unfold in person, André Leon Talley and Vogue.com contributor Hanneli Mustaparta will be hosting a live webcast on CBS.com.

Of course, the premise of this whole event is to showcase designer duds next to their bargain-store doppelgängers. With all those big names on one runway, let’s just hope there aren’t any fights over who gets to wear the Balenciaga and who’s stuck in the Charlotte Russe.

Over 150 models will walk along the Revson Fountain in Lincoln Center, while the show is livestreamed on CBS.com. Vogue editors Andre Leon Talley and Hanneli Mustaparta will host the live stream.
