Fashion Trends You Succumbed To

I bought some really ugly flip-flops this summer...from the Gap. In my defense: my other shoes were killing my feet and $2-3 was pretty much all I could afford for summer flats at that time (especially a pair that would most likely get ruined by art supplies). :ninja:

I'm going to paint them, though, which I think may redeem them slightly. The shape isn't bad, just the color. They're some sort of plastic material, so I think that acrylics might stick. :woot: I hope that it works. If not...well, fall's almost here anyway and I'm only out a couple of dollars... :innocent:

edit: I bought these in turquoise. See what I mean about the ugliness? Especially because they are translucent and rocks, etc get caught in the star things and show through. Ew. Well, they cost what they're worth I guess.

Ugg boots. i totally denounced it to peices when my friends started wearing it but one day i tried them on at her house and when my little foot touched the insides of that boots i could not live with myself any more if i didn't get a pair ASAP !!!!! it was tragic

flat shoes, i'm not talking about flip flops of sandles or those but the flat pointy shoes that looks like a stiletto without the heels. i thought they looked disgusting and then i once again had to get a pairt ASAP.

and also anything that's hot pink. i never wore pink and then just started to grow on me and now my closets has more than a few pink peices

frye boots. The way I see it, they're a classic-under jeans, on top of jeans, with skirts, with skirts and tights...

1950's skirts or long skirts,
i really really hated them until one day i tried one on for the fun of it and i instantly fell in love.

Uggs. I tried on a fake pair at Target & they were so soft & comfortable, so I ordered Uggs from Nordstrom.

Fur ~ I bought a fur piece and I drape it on everything I wear. I once swore I wouldn't succumb to this, but if fur stopped looking so good on so many of my things then maybe I'd stop!

flip flops are a trend? we wear them year round here... you get rainbows for the generally skirt and polo, then the j-crew for comfort, and old navy to color coordinate.... i love flip flops- i have like 20 pairs

Juicy tube dress... It's too comfy to not wear...around my apartment. ;)

EDIT: Yaaaay! I have starrrsssss. I'm super.

hmm glad im not alone with the ugg thing.....
i love the way they are soo comfy...i wear them outside thenn i dont even bother taking them off when im inside cuz there quiet and soft just like slippers! i dont care about the trend...and besides where im from they were never a trend to begin with....

Basically I succumb to every trend, but that's okay. Like everyone says, I don't care that Uggs are out because they are amazing. I just wore them today and someone shouted across the hall at me "why are you wearing Uggs? Is it snowing outside?" but whatev they are SOOOO comfortable! I will never admit to anyone that I did Von Dutch though, I gave it all to my little brother so that no one will ever know.

EXACTLY. I don't wear mine out and about, but as something comfy to wear around my apartment, or when cleaning ;)

It worked pretty well to paint the flip-flops that I mentioned in my last post, by the way. I used acrylics and painted one black and the other white. :P They need an extra coat anyway, but they also feel a bit sticky even with dry paint. I think that covering them with something like matte medium will help, though. They aren't terribly sticky anyway, so it's not really a problem.

I'm just so relieved that you can no longer see through to the bottom at any dirt that gets caught in the treads. That was so gross.

i_<3_chanel, they are comfy, aren't they? The shape I like, but aside from the original color mine were kind of dingy from all of the charcoal that I have been drawing with (even after washing), so they really needed the paint to look at all decent.

flip flops :ninja: I couldn't help it, I was at a beach all summer! :P
lol, excuses, excuses

I might succumb to Uggs, (but never the other accessories they offer), since I go to school in a cold place, and those'd be lovely to wander around in...but only to keep my feet warm. :)

Hawaiian-themed shirts. I bought two on my trip to Hawaii - it was appropriate there, but I thought it was so out of place back in NY. :shy:
