Favorite Riddle

Correct and correct. If the sea were riddled with riddles, the Captain would enjoy plain sailing.

Two men are sitting opposite each other in a railway carriage, they are the only passengers. The window is open and the train travels through a tunnel. When it emerges from the tunnel, one of the men has a filthy face and the other has not. Why is the man with the clean face the only one who goes to wash in the bathroom?

. . . . . .

Think of words ending in -GRY. Angry and hungry are two of them. There are only three words in the English language. What is the third word? The word is something that everyone uses each day.

Alice is walking thought the forest of forgetfulness. She wants to know what day of the week it is. She stops and asks a lion and a unicorn. Now the lion lies all of the time on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The unicorn always lies on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Alice asks the lion what day it is, he says, "Well yesterday was one of my lying days." Well Alice cant figure it out just from the Lions answer so she asks the unicorn and the unicorn says, "Yesterday was also one of my lying days."

Answer 1 is correct, but they don't share any day in common in their lying schedule, hence the unicorn must be lying when she says they do making it the day after the lion's last lying day.

Answer 2 is right, though I would prefer a more full pond myself. B)

no i mean like this...i had to draw a diagram

Lion's Lying Schedule; (red days are lying days)

S M T W T F S

Thursday and Monday are the only days the lions Statement "Yesterday was one of my lying days" would hold true to his rules...because monday he would be lying and thursday he would be telling the truth

Unicorn's Lying Schedule: (red days are lying days)

S M T W T F S

Thursday and Sunday are the only days the Unicorn's Statement "Yesterday was one of my lying days" would hold true to his rules...because thursday he would be lying and Sunday he would be telling the truth....since the Lion can't lie on Sunday about "lying on saturday"...thursday is the only day in which the rules hold true that they share in common ...so it must be thursday :P

lol

Ah, I hear you now, loud and clear (but since the unicorn say also she has to be lying since that suggests they share a lying day when they don't)
