Favourite Top African and Black Models

^ Yes I do stay in tuned with SPFW and do agree with you. The designers do choose models of different shades and culture, as well as ethnic backgrounds. Also, when there are all dark-skinned and/or brown-skinned models walking one show it isn't made such a bid deal because it is not as rare to see as NY, London, Milan, & Paris Fashion Week shows. I wish more of those runway shows would make sense like many SPFW runway shows. Also, many designers don't just say one season I'll put in a token black, or tanned model and the next all white models. Most, not all, designer fit their designs according to the models shade and what look better on them. I honest think white & colorful patterns and designs look better on darker-skinned models. But again its according to the design and what looks best on which model imo.

It wasn't always like that, though. They made a rule back in 2009, I believe, that every show should have at least 10% of models of other ethnicities - and it's still on, if I remember correctly.
I do think that casting is so varied in Brazil, though, because the population itself is varied. The Brazilian people are a mix of various people and cultures, which in itself resulted in the diversity of faces and bodies you see here. (We do really lack Asian models, though. I haven't seen an Asian girl walking the Brazilian runways ever since Julianna Imai. Maybe it's because the Asian community in Brazil lacks height, generally speaking.)
