You are so welcome! She is my fave black model & she definitely doesn't get any play.

I didn't know that there were so many black models!;) Or at least there use to be. :( But many of these models were big before I was born, so I guess I have SOME sort of excuse for not knowing about these beautiful women...

Thanks for all the beautiful pics! You made me cry tears of joy!

noemie looks amazin! the new hairstyle is much better it makes her look less commercial/benetton ad like. Great dresses too are any of them versace?

Not sure. I have a ton more pics of her to post and have posted a lot already. Check out her thread.

Where's Wanakee?

Does anyone remember the model Wanakee or have pics? I think she was in the 80's. I thought she was popular, but I don't see her in the thread, so maybe not.
thanks..:flower:

I've seen some pics of Wanakee. Perhaps Omi can post a few, if she sees the thread. :flower:

Thanks so much Omi.....You're archives are amazing. Was Wanakee not considered a top model? I haven't seen a mention of her.

Hah, we posted at the same time! No problem, nice to see something else. Wanakee worked from the early 80s(like 1981) notably to about 1990. I wouldn't fully say she was a Topmodel, but she was for blackmodels. She worked a good amount for mags like Vogue and Essence, and did lots of catalog work. She missed the 'super' boat so to speak, but compared to blackmodels today she would be like a Topmodel with the work she did. Later she shifted her focus to hair care products.
