She's gorgeous, but she looks so angry. Like she'd chop my head off if I met her in the alley.

I find it odd that Asian models seem to be doing better than Black models. I don't know what the deal is. Like black models can't have 'unique features'. It's like nowadays you have to be a 'mutt' to get into HF.

Thats harsh, but I know what you mean by "mutt". But there's a lot of hot exotic looking ones out there. Case in point...

Oh my goodness!

^ Why? I'm a mutt and I'm white. When I tell people all of my different ethnicities, they call me a mutt :p

OMW! Anissa and Tiguida are stunning :woot:

i thin it has something to do with asians spending loads of cash on luxury goods. all teh models represent potential customers. the few black faces tend ot be west african--to me, adn ngierians in particular have money to spend on luxury items.the asians used in ads are typically japanese, chinee, korean--u hardly see those from soutyherna sia cuz htey don't spend as much money on gucci. also, big houses have been catering to middle easterners/north afridans but using women who appear to be from there.

Some people take offense to things that others don't. I don't like the term "mutt". People don't usually mean it as an insult but it can be easily interprated that way. It also puts a damper on the beauty of mixed culture and ethnic backrounds...it sort of devalues it (imo). What do you think of when you hear the word mutt? I think of a multicolored dog/animal of a breed that I can't determine. What do you think when you hear the word mulatto? if you are spanish or portuguese you think of a mule right? Terms with negative connotation are better left unsaid in my opinion.

I would only take offense if a person meant it to be offensive. Most people just say it playfully.

And about the Asian models, it's good to see them being represented, but it's like in fashion, there can only be only "IT" ethnicity at a time. It's even worse for the ethnicities that are never represented like Middle Easterns, Indians and South and Central Americans (excepting Caucasian Brazilians).

Well, if they're attempting to cater to those customers, they're failing horribly. Yasmeen has been retired forever and has been pretty much the only top model of her kid. The only non-Brazilian South American I can think of right now is Milagros Schmoll and she's a redheaded German, and Emina's Serbian btw.

At the end of the day, white models still dominate the catwalks, and it doesn't seem like much can change that :(

i don't think the point is their actual ethnicity as much as what they appear to be--emina could easily pass for persian, and all those moreno brasiliens also resemble the ethnic features of women from that region. miss egypt
