Watching…
The box set of Downton Abbey. What a show. I have been mocked by colleagues and friends for being a granny and watching it, but until you’ve seen it you cannot judge! It’s brilliantly written, the costumes are incredible and Maggie Smith is a legend.
Also, Mad Men; a day didn’t go passed last year when I heard someone waxing lyrical about this show. I had to give in and get involved – two episodes down and I’m involved.
Listening to…
James Blake’s incredible new album, which will be out soon. In the day and age where pop stars over produce tracks adding any effect possible, he stands out using his voice, the odd beat and some keys. A brave, naked and exciting album.
Also, Alex Watson: The charts are still overwhelmed by female singers from Gaga, to Florence, to Marina. Is there room for another? …Oh go on then. Alex goes her own way creating beautiful fairy-like tunes layering her sweet voice and melodies that make you grin from ear to ear! Love her!

LOADS!! Me and my bezzie Kye are training for a half marathon in March so the running shoes are firmly on as we tread the rainy pavements of London town. We completed a 10 mile run on Saturday! The longest I’ve ever run! I specified to Kye I didn’t want to run over eight miles just yet but he lied and took me on a 10 mile course.
On this particular run through the park we saw a woman dressed as Donald Duck casually walking around, beak and all. Will from Coldplay was also walking about yet didn’t recognise me when I shouted “Hey Will,” due to my bright pink cagoule and woolly hat. EMBARRASSING!
A few choccie cakes have been made and eaten with my new Kitchen Aid too this week! YUM!
Drinking…
Cocktails: I was meant to be on a booze ban until February but accidently got drunk at the press launch for my make up at BOOTS. The makeup will go into the store as separates in March, so we drank very nice cocktails to celebrate.
On I then went to Captain Barlow’s 40th birthday party where he performed hits from his past with famous friends. Ellie Goulding and Chris Martin both joined Gary on stage as well as Take That (minus Robsta).
It was an incredible night, yet radio the next day was not so pleasant! Greg James gave me a snap shot into my drunkenness the next day at work. Apparently I was thoroughly enjoying putting my hand in front of his face during the gig so he couldn’t see! ANNOYING! Haha!
Wearing…
Boys clothes; I’m going through a right tomboy patch. My fiance’s shirt cupboard is ever so secretly raided every morning so I can feed this new habit. I’m loving a shirt buttoned right to the top with jeans or slacks and brogues or boots. My spring/summer range has also hit the web at Very.co.uk too, so when I am feeling girlie for a night out I have been mostly wearing the beaded collar, black and white print dress with black ankle boots; a comfy yet girlie look.
Reading…
Life: Keith Richards – What a book. I have always been a fan of the Rolling Stones for a long time and knew a rough history of their debauchery, but this book is a true insight into the mayhem that ensued after world fame hit. The book seeps with Keith’s passion for music especially the blues, at times talking about chords and melodies for vast chunks of it. If that is too much for you – bear with it as the life stories scattered throughout are unbelievable; a true rock ‘n’ roll pirate!
Working on…
Our big Live Lounge Special this week with Adele; we have never done this before and there is huge excitement at Radio1 for Thursday at Maida Vale. We are streaming it live so you can see Adele singing six songs back to back with no interruptions (from me). She is surely the best female voice the UK has! EXCITED!!
Slobbing out too…
My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding! What a show; I am transfixed when it’s on each Tuesday! The outfits, the makeup, the ceremonies, all unbelievable! The fibre optic butterfly dress being my favourite so far!
Also, Aunty Gok is back with his wonderful road show spreading joy and positive thinking to woman around the land! Tuesday nights are tailor-made for blankets on the sofa with a hot chocolate at the moment.
Love and peace,
