Fendi F/W 2015.16 : Kendall Jenner by Karl Lagerfeld

She excels more on the runway, but I don't think campaign is bad by any means. But it's clear why she got it. I mean, Fendi promoted her walking in their show last season on Instagram, so...Karl likes the Instagirls.

I feel like Karl is following the vibe those days.

Hasn't he been that way for awhile though when it comes to models? Daria, Freja, Saskia, Lara...we all know other designers got hold of these models long before Karl did. I think the only one that Karl could really take credit for "discovering" is Cara (although she modeled for Burberry, Karl was the one to really start promoting her and putting her on his catwalks).

I don't even think Karl cares who does the campaign, there's a man in a suit who works for PR who is probably convincing the casting directors who is hot to use, and that will get lots of publicity for the campaign.

Kendull is a terrible model, but her name alone would save them a lot of money in advertising. She's a walking, talking advert.

^ hey you've been spelling her name wrong this whole time, it's on the thread title, how silly

So the latest shot that she posted on Instagram isn't too bad, she is very attractive. But so is the number of likes the picture got.

^For sure it's intentional. KenDULL cause she's so dull, I like it.

 Thanks for this, makes so much more sense! I couldn't understand why so many people spelled her name wrong on here, and I wasn't going to point it out, because you know, dont throw stones....

I knew it was intentional, I don't get how petty name calling contributes anything though!

Heh, the Daily Mail has covered TFS's review of this campaign:
Commentators on The Fashion Spot called it 'hands down the worst Fendi campaign I've seen in a while'.

Another added: 'The lighting is on another whole new level of cheapness,' while someone else complained it is a 'great collection ruined by a horrible campaign and a bad model'.

One more commenter chimed in: 'The make-up doesn't suit her... needs someone with cheekbones!!'

Another fashion fan explained bluntly: 'There is no tension in her body. She just stands there. It really bugs me.

'It's almost the 50th anniversary of Karl at Fendi and this is no way to celebrate. That house deserves more and Kendall deserves nothing. She's not a model. Period.'

The story's also been picked up by Celebuzz.

Nice to see TFS's reviewers being regarded as worthy of being quoted (even if it's by the DM).

Personally I think she is pretty, and I also think that she does work hard to have a model's body. That said though, I think that her entry into modeling is rather unconventional (think 80s and 90s supermodels and how they "made it"). Popularity (and even infamy) on reality shows has become the springboard for a lot of women to have careers in fashion and in modeling. I do miss the age of the real supers.

She literally gives the same look in every campaign shoot. I get why they cast her (it brings crazy amounts of attention) but if she doesn't look good is doing a disservice to those of us that actually love the industry and the clothes.

we're famous :D i got to say standing by what i said after those 2 new shots..they retouched her so much she looks plastic almost...

this is so bad, kendalls street style images look amazing but her ad campaigns are a huge fail

That figure from the last picture looks more natural than Kendull. She just remindes me of a wax doll. Her face looks like a face of no-brainer, but it's always like that so I'm not surprised. She's just a weak model and actually anybody from the cast would be better. And it's a shame, because that collection was so good and it's Karl's 50th anniversary.
Please Fendi, follow Prada and make a campaign with another face pasted on Kendall's one.
