Spain made a 0 tie in the practise match against Iceland
Fernando Torres formed at the starter eleven of the National Team and he played 45 minutes of the match against Iceland
The first match of the National Team after the World Cup that ended with a 0-tie at Iceland stadium Laugardalsvöll of Reikjiavik. Iceland–Spain, fits in the preseason, it was useful to Luis Aragones’ players to recuperate the pace of the international competition faced to the next matches against Liechtenstein and North Ireland on September, inside the clasification group to the Eurocup ’08. Raul Gonzalez became the great starter of the match, because he fulfil 100 matches wearing the ‘red’ shirt.
Fernando Torres figured in the starter eleven and he exhibited a good phisical fitness in the 45 minutes that he was on the field. At the second half it didn’t change a lot, although the replacements. The entered of Reyes instead Torres added the entered of Joaquin instead Luis Garcia, in a clear intention to approach for both sides of the Icelandic bunker. Almost he achieved it, the Arsenal player in two actions: a shot and a foult shot put could inaugurated the scoreboarder. Joaquin couldn’t do it either at 88’, a shot from a pass of Antonio Lopez couldn’t fit between the three post.
The match couldn’t get wide it, the last one to start the way to September to the Eurocup’08. Will be the 2nd against Liechtenstein at Almendralejo (Badajoz), and the 6th against North Ireland.
