Fernando Torres

:D The Spanish sure know how to party! They are probably gonna celebrate the World Cup victory till the Leagues begin ^_^

Apparently Fernando and Olalla are expecting second child :woot: In recent photos Olalla had quite a baby bump ^_^

^^ Aww. If that's true congrats to him. ^_^

Oh, and he's been cleared to play in Liverpool's opening match against Anfield. :D

Yeah, I would say Olalla is definitely pregnant. Here are some pictures with Nando, Olalla, and Nora. They are such an adorable family.

So adorable, love those family shots. Hopefully he will rest up properly and be back revitalised.

JulesZ - where did you read that he's been cleared to play?

I read it on Tumblr, and he's apparently been cleared to start in the match against Arsenal. So, I'm not too sure how reliable it is  Sorry

Oh, I just found this article on Mirror Football:
Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson is ready to fly out to meet striker Fernando Torres today - and ask him if he wants to stay or be sold.

Hodgson knows that Spanish star Torres' decision will mould his transfer thinking and movement for the window and he wants to get a straight answer from El Nino.

Torres has been sending out mixed messages on what he plans to do and Hodgson wants have a thorough conversation about the next move.

The Kop idol has hinted he wants to know what Liverpool have planned for next season and he is aware that there are some big clubs waiting for him if he says he wants to leave.

Chelsea, Manchester City and even Manchester United are ready to make offers if Liverpool sell Torres - at his own request - and the chase would start immediately after the Hodgson meeting.

Liverpool would want around £50 million for the striker whose injury-hit and misfiring club campaign ended with some low-key displays at the World Cup.

They need a straight answer out of Torres as they have to line up a replacement and have him registered for the Europa League campaign.

Torres discovered yesterday he will be out for three weeks because of a ruptured muscle in his left thigh.

Hodgson wants to hang on to his World Cup-winning striker and seized on him being photographed wearing a Liverpool scarf during Spain's celebrations on Sunday as proof for Kopites that he is happy at Anfield.

"I think it's safe to say the pictures of Fernando in the dressing room with the World Cup certainly went down well with our fans, but the club can be proud of all the players who went away to the World Cup," said the Liverpool manager.

Hodgson ignored talk of Torres' possible departure and says he is looking forward to working with him and the club's other World Cup finalists when they return to Melwood at the start of next month.

"As Liverpool manager, I take great pride in the fact that two of our players can call themselves World Cup winners this summer," he said.

"To have four players reach the final is an incredible achievement and I look forward to working with them when they return to Melwood after their holidays."

Liverpool claim Torres could be ready by the start of next month and are flying out members of their medical team to Madrid to organise his rehab.

The Reds are in close contact with Spain's doctors, who yesterday diagnosed what they called "a grade one" tear in Torres' thigh when they sent him for a scan in Madrid.

Liverpool's new head of sports science and medicine, Dr Peter Brukner, claims this is good news and that the club's £26.5million record signing will be back in time for their Premier League opener against Arsenal on August 15.

"The initial assessment was he had a mild adductor tear and the Spanish medial staff didn't consider it to be too serious at the time," said Brukner.

"He had an MRI scan yesterday, which confirmed a small tear. He should be able to resume training within two to three weeks and be able to play again within three to four weeks."

Liverpool's World Cup stars were missing when their youthful 20-man party jetted out to Switzerland yesterday for their 10-day training camp.

Alberto Aquilani, Lucas, Albert Riera and Emiliano Insua were the most high-profile faces on the flight, although Sotirios Kyrgiakos and new signing Milan Jovanovic are joining up with the squad in Switzerland.

Kyrgiakos will be the first World Cup player to return to training and the Greek centre-half was due to arrive today, while new signing Milan Jovanovic is travelling direct to the players' Alpine base near the Austrian border from his home in Serbia.

Hodgson's first match as Liverpool manager will be against Saudi Arabian champions Al-Hilal at the quaintly-named Cashpoint-Arena in Altach on Saturday.

Liverpool will then play Grasshoppers next Wednesday and Kaiserslautern on Saturday week before returning to prepare for the first leg of their Europa League qualifier on July 29.

^^ Thanks Jules.

Honestly he should stay with Liverpool only because if he goes somewhere like Man City or Chelsea, he's not really going to be starting a lot with other strikers there whereas at Liverpool he's guaranteed to start every game.

Seriously? I was pretty surprised when I saw this thread : Fernando Torres a Fashion icon?
Doesn't sound real for a 27 years old man who's still wearing baggy pants hehe !

I understand him , ignoring all what's going on in the Club before the coming of Hodgson it can scare a little bit but now with Stevie confirms his stay and the arriving of Joe Cole and daily players signed , he will easily be convinced by Hodgson !

Well, about 10 % (or less) of all the threads here in tFS are about fashion icons  ^
Damn, I had wished that he'd return to Spain, he just fits there better, naturally. Tho I must admit he wouldnt be half of the star he is now if it wasnt for Liverpool.
