Fingerless gloves F/W 10.11

I think we can be already pretty sure just judging by the shows held til now but yeah, let's wait and we'll see. Maybe it'll sound stupid but I like the breeze of a bum/homeless look they bring.

new york is really not where most trends are found though...
and these are not really 'directional' designers that set the trends...
ie- nicole miller...michael kors...milly...tory burch
all sort of classic american sportswear designers...

if we are to believe the hype...
then we will see longer skirts in paris and more of a 70's vibe...
which doesn't really include this sort of thing...

but----
we shall see...

oh no I wasn't saying that the ny shows are setting the trends, of course not but it's likely that some of the stuff we've seen so far will be copied. You wanna bet? :)

i like your determination flyest!!!
:D

copied?---
yeah- i'll take that bet.^_^...
i don't think anyone in europe is copying anything in ny...
:p

but - like i said...
it pops up every season here and there...
so, we may see it, sure...

**just a side note...
i don't know if everyone knows this...
but ny shows used to be at the end of all the shows...
but they moved them to the beginning of the schedule because the europeans kept accusing the americans of copying them...
so the americans wanted to prove that they weren't copying...
kinda funny, right?

except that now american collections are completely boring and uninspired...
:flower:

kinda defies the purpose, no?

just like those peeptoe boots...

i used to wear fingerless gloves quite a bit...

the way i used to make it more 'workable' is to wear a pair of really fitted leather gloves and then put some long wool fingerless gloves over top of them...
them you get the look and still get to keep your fingers safe from frost bite!
and the mix of leather and knit (shiny and matte) is really chic imo...

kus- you might want to try this...;)

^_^...

i feel like this trend is kind of bubbling under, it has been for a while anyway

yeah, i'm not sure how much of a NEW trend this is as much as maybe a recurring part of other larger trends that have been going on for the past decade, from rock-chic (you'll see karen o wearing them really often) to "boho" of the mid 00's to a lot of the general schoolboy/schoolgirl things a lot of designers do as well.

that said, i love fingerless gloves b/c i hate how restrictive gloves are... can't use my iphone, can't tie shoes, etc -- i frequently wear them UNDER mittens though since it's so cold here in NY. that way i can take a mitten off if i need to use my fingers, but without making the rest of my hand freeze too much....i actually started doing this back when i used to snowboard & would NEED my fingers to be adjust a binding/get my ski pass/fix my headphones/blow my nose/etc and taking my mitten off and exposing my whole hand/wrist would HURT... and it ended up transitioning quite well to regular winter wear, ha.

though in fall/spring i do just wear them because they look cool and for no glove purposes whatsoever... ha.

:) I was just saying we sure can notice this "trend" on the runway (this season in particular) and as much as you don't like to call it a trend, it continues to pop up in London as well but I'm not in the mood for posting pics hihi
