Model: Karlie Kloss

Cameron Williamson: Iman once said that when she was on the runway she thought of Africa. What’s top of mind when you’re on the catwalk?
Karlie Kloss: I focus on the woman I’m embodying. At an Oscar de la Renta show, I think about elegance; at Alexander Wang, it’s all about attitude and independence.

Cameron Williamson: What’s the secret to having a long career in the modelling industry?
Karlie Kloss: Being able to find a balance between your career, outside interests and personal life. My family’s support keeps me going and taking time off to spend with them is what has allowed me to stay driven.

Cameron Williamson: Recently you enrolled in NYU—what are you going to study?
Karlie Kloss: I don’t have to declare a major just yet. I’m still in the process of looking through courses but I’m so excited to get started!

Cameron Williamson: You’ve said that knowing how to code is necessary to succeed in a digital world, especially for women—what inspired you to take up coding in the first place?
Karlie Kloss: It’s always fascinated me, but it’s not a subject I was taught in school. So last year, I decided to take a coding crash course and I ended up LOVING it. There’s a big misconception that coding is strictly mathematical; it’s actually incredibly creative. Code runs everything around us, and young women are so important to defining the future.

Cameron Williamson: Decades from now, when you look back at your career, what do you want to be remembered for?
Karlie Kloss: I hope my career spans decades and can be looked back on! If I can show one girl that you can do whatever you set your mind to, I will be thrilled.

She is everywhere this month.
Love the cover with the white shirt.
This is much better than the US Glamour cover.

Karlie is such an icon. She has left an impact on high fashion that will be remembered!

She is everywhere this month.

I know, :woot: And quite right too, if you ask me. She' finally getting the recognition she deserves. I like this cover, she looks very approachable. Hope it sells for Canadians.

It´s funny I wasn´t sold at her beginnings but then multiple US Vogue spreads, multiple covers, campaigns and contracts and that great personality as well as her ability to go from mass and commercial to high fashion in a flick of seconds really convinced me and made her really reliable to people everywhere. I also appreciate the fact that she is a chameleon and a funny girl who is very smart. That´s not something you see everyday in fashion. Years after years she is consistent, poses really well, walks with her signature. Karlie really is one of today´s true supermodels

I'm always glad when Flare manages to get a model on their cover, rather than the third rate American actresses they typically get.

Very nice! Simple, clean & love the crisp white shirt...classic!

Stunning! Beyond beautiful!! So much better than her Glamour cover!
