Looks like spring trend cliché #1 - flowers - will be one of the most dominating for the S/S 08 season. Seen at everywhere from Prada over Michael Kors to Oscar de la Renta in more or less obvious forms and interpretations.

I think it's hard for women to pull this off and not look incredibly cheesy, especially if it's summer and they're going out of town.. could prints get more predictable?. I love Moschino's take on this though, as well as Prada's.. it looks less Renoir and more uptown and modern, especially that lemon green skirt by Prada.. . We'll have to see what Paris does with this, but I like what I'm seeing so far..

love the Erdem ones, except for the green. I never tire of flowers... though i'd prefer some trees...

^^well, i can't say i'm too fond of flowers myself though it strangely appeals to me at Bill Blass. and i think the Luella jacket is kind of cute as well ^_^

thanks for the thread mette :flower:..

i'm in the same boat as you and mullet..
not a flower girl at all..

i think the only way i could do it would be in the details..
like the little flower on the belt at missoni- for example..

*although now that i think of it..
i did buy a sort of floral loose blouse the other day...
hmm...so not me...but i like it...
:ermm:....:P..

it works in small doses..
or when it's a bit more abstract..
the first dress you posted from 6267 is gorgeous actually imo..
maybe it works best when it's not in 'typical' floral colours...pinks, reds, oranges, etc..

Mettchen - great work. So many different styles. Although I am not that much of a flower chick either. But some of them are fabulous...!!!

I guess I'm sort of a flower girl  though I'm not as big a fan if this seasons interpretation - there is too much going on, either too boho and hippie-ish or too girly.. :ninja:

The prints at Prada is gorgeous though. And I do like the ones from the last pic from Luella, they are fun. !

I think I'm genrelly mostly into the mid 90's kind of flowers, think Geena Davis in the Long Kiss Goodnight and Kristin Scott Thomas in four weddings and a funeral ^_^

I love Dolce's take on this, their's are more like suggestions of flowers....very pretty, but not cheesy, imo anyway.

I like the second Missoni print, I'd wear it. imo good florals are hard to find... usually it looks a little too sunday church dress for me.

so happy to see so much of it on the runways
